Five feet makes a difference?

What am I doing wrong here. I made sure that my right hand was loosely gripping the gun, the left was wrapped around the right and gripping it firmly, and my trigger finger was placed on the trigger the same each time.

The circles are about 3 inches in diameter. I had the same results shooting other, similar targets at similar distances. Both groups were shot one after the other and after 50-ish rounds downrange. Each group consisted of 15 rounds.

Twenty feet is spot on but 25 is off? I am sure that it's me, but I don't know what the difference is between the two.

Ammo storage - FIFO

FIFO (First In First Out) is a way to ensure that the oldest (insert your item here) is the first one to be sold/used/etc. I would like to do that with my ammo.

My problem is that I cannot find a good way to do this, short of dating every new purchase and shuffling the entire stock around each time I buy more.

I've read if folks that have large amounts of ammo. I am wondering what they do to ensure FIFO. Any thoughts? I am struggling to find a good system to accomplish this.

Since it's Friday...

This is on the back of the pistol range bag. Too much maybe? I mean, unless you are a neo-Nazi, and i have not seen any (overtly anyway) at the range, you can't really argue with the sentiment. Can you?

I am looking at an Aero Precision X-15 chambered in .223 Wylde with an 18 inch barrel, Vortex Strikefire green dot and Vortex 3x magnifier. It's listed for $999.

Price wise, I think it's an "acceptable" deal, do you folks agree?

Secondly, I have not seen a lot of people using this brand. Or an 18 inch barrel, for that matter. Does anyone have any familiarity with the brand and it's reliability?

I have been thinking that I want an SBR. My intent was to build, but given the political climate in MN, I thought I should get something purchased before I build. I saw this one tonight. It's got an 11.5 inch barrel with a brace. That looks like a stock to me, but the guy at the shop said no tax stamp was needed.

It's about what I would have spent building, minus the suppressor cost. Add that in and I am right in the ballpark for what I estimated a build would cost me.

What do you think of this? Is it a fair price for this setup? I cannot remember if there was a flash suppressor or a compensator in it though.

This is from today's short range session. The gun was a Ruger RXM with a 3 MOA Vortex red dot shooting 124 gr. Staccatto FMJ rounds.

The top two small targets were shot at 20 feet. The big one in the middle and the small one below that were shot at 30 feet.

The 20 footers are decent for a new-ish handgun shooter. I've had the RXM for less than 2 months. The 30 foot ones though... What the heck am I doing wrong? Is it just drift of the gun as I am preparing to shoot?

The RXM trigger has a pretty decent break I think. I can usually bring it just up to firing and hold there until the dot is on target. I do my best not to anticipate the shot. With that being said, I had A LOT of duds today (7 out of 60 rounds) and I did notice a bit of flinch.

I have snap caps at home and I do practice dry firing and target acquisition. I see a bit of wobble on the red dot, but nothing that I would consider out of the ordinary.

I am sure it is an operator-generated issue, but what that is I am not sure. Thoughts folks?
