Canada to Australia Nursing

Hello everyone,

I’ve checked out the Permanent Residence page on this subreddit and noticed a lot of opinions for people coming to Australia Nurse school to fast track residency.

I’m 22 year old Canadian and I want to live in Australia and be a nurse. Nursing and healthcare is my passion, I I’ve worked on an ambulance, homes, ER. Etc. I’d like to be an ER nurse ultimately and then ICU.

The reason I want to go to Australia is I’m from Tofino BC and I am a huge surfer and tbh I’m just tired of freezing weather year round, and I absolutely love the quality of life in Australia. however I love healthcare and this isn’t just a push to get residency it’s genuinely a passion in a beautiful area of the world.

I was curious if anyone knows the timeline from when you achieve a RN job, I know there competitve and I’d like to eventually be in the ER but I get it’s a process, however is the timeline like 1-3 years as a RN to your Residency or is it longer, just curious before I commit to paying money to do so.

UK to Australia

Hello everyone,

I’ve been a UK paramedic for 3 years, I got my paramedic degree in Australia and then moved to the UK on a visa to work as a paramedic. I’m actually funny enough a Canadian citizen but I did my Paramedic bachelors in Auzzie i’ hopes of getting a residency and working as a medic in Australia

Was curious if anyone knows any programs now that I’ve got experience with any ambulance services or paramedic jobs in all of Australia that offer visa/ to permanent residency for qualified and experienced paramedics?

Of course I understand the job is competitive and you need residency for state ambulances I believe?

Let me know!
