Carnival Authorization to obtain and release medical information
Hello all!
I am currently in the midst of onboarding for a position with carnival, I just started my medical clearance process with getting a physical with my own PCP. When I got the forms I have to fill out, this one form stood out to me that they will get basically my entire medical history.
Long story short I am a recovering alcoholic in a very secure state of sobriety, I have all the measures in place such as the vivitrol shot (a shot that basically makes you unable to feel any effects if you drink), as well as support, you might think a cruise ship would not be a good place to work but for me its the contrary so please don't give unsolicited takes on my sobriety.
Do you think having an impatient treatment center that I successfully completed treatment at on my medical record would cause any red flags and possibly disqualify me? And if it does cause an issue am I at least able to plead my case to the reviewers?
Everyone has a past, and substance use disorder is a lot more common than people think, but while difficult, it is possible to recover, so don't be quick to judge.
