Is it safe to use a road bike as a transportation method?

Hi I recently bought a road bike to cycle from point to point, such as going for haircuts, cycling to uni, and others. However, I feel like as someone who bikes in btwn 20kmph ~ 30kmph, its unsafe and difficult to bike on pedestrian pathways, while the cars on the road usually don't seem friendly to cyclists... is it really okay to bike on roads here?

Also this bike is relatively new, from a friend of mine living at Orchard. Was wondering if there would be an ideal route for me to ride it back to Jurong East, where I live?

NTU Biosci VS NUS Life Sci

I got offers from NUS and NTU not long ago, in Life Sci from NUS and Biological sciences with second major in data analytics from NTU. I realise that NTU does specialise directly and is less flexible than NUS, but I've been reading posts that Life Sci and CHS forces you to take some unnecessary mods...

To be frank I do care abt employability and future job prospects and I do realise that bio related fields might have been the wrong choice for me... but its really what I'm more interested in and have experience in. So I just wanted to inquire which offer might provide me with better chances for development, either Masters/PhD abroad or direct entry to industry. Like what might I expect from NTU or NUS and what might it mean for my studies and future?

Ik this post is very general but I'm honestly quite lost in how to make decisions. Advice would be greatly appreciated so I can read them and evaluate for myself. Thanks!
