Is this the end?

Seems dramatic but I remember the excitement of qualifying in 2010, I remember Mourad Meghni joining and Karim Ziani inspiring the team.

We supported the team and the NT went from strength to strength. 2014, beating South Korea and narrowly losing to Germany. 2019, winning the AFCON convincingly

And now? We're glad Switzerland only beat us by 2 goals.

The NT is a joke. Talented players passing the ball 100 times, none of the passes threatening. When Algeria has the ball, you don't feel that anything will happen.

When literally ANY oppoaition has the ball, you worry about conceding with a weak defence.

And so the media storm will continue. Petkovic will likely leave of his own accord. I don't know who will replace him. But anything is better than this.

Belmadi, please come back

Belmadi knew how to win. Yes Algeria didn't qualify during his era but I blame the players. Stupid unnecessary backheel pass goes to a Cameroon player and there goes the qualification.

Belmadi won the GCC cup with Qatar and was fired for losing a friendly the same year a caretaker manager won the Asia Cup. He won the CAN in 2019 with Algeria.

He is a disciplinarian. Plays beautiful football from the back.

Found players and used them effectively and didn't change his mind every game.

Iran supporters after Mahrez scores

I feel so bad for them. We shouldnt have let Austria score, even if it meant playing Spain and going out.

The people have been through so much.

Mistakes on the Jordan goal

It really bothers me that once again Aissa Mandi goes to ground in the box. It achives nothing as usual. Almost like he can later say I did everything I could.

Hes honestly such a liability it worries me.

Egypt v Belgium live

Belgium has just equalised and this has 2-1 Belgium written all over it unfortunately.

Egypt could have won this game.

Irrespective of how it ends, I genuinely think Egypt got their tactics right and this should be the blueprint for Algeria v Argentina.

Congratulations To Qatar

As the Algerian, sorry Qatari, Boualem Khoukhi scores their first ever goal in a world cup.

Hugh Laurie

I would just like to remind you all that Dr House (actor Hugh Laurie) commented on Twitter after Algeria's loss to Germany:

Algeria: Just plain bloody heroic

Do remind him of the games before and ask him for a comment after (if the NT wins obviously)

We are 9 days away people. Remain focussed, and above all pray. Pray like you've never prayed before.

Ait Nouri and Mahrez

Holland broke and got a shot on goal on 4 occasions because of these 2 who lost rhe ball in dangerous areas.

Ait Nouri had an option up the field but tried to pass to Bentaleb and it was easily intercepted.

He also passed to Mandi who was in the box under pressure.

I dont know if he does that at Man City, but thats 2 times too many for being so reckless.

Mahrez the same. Once in the box, once in the middle of rhe pitch.

Holland managed several shots on target. At least half were the result of these 2.

Guardiola needs to tell them off.
