How many people actually hunt foxes?

A topic of Presidential elections, party politics and now mentions again in the ard fheis for FF…

Let’s say it’s 1000 people across the country who still actively hunt foxes (I’ve plucked a number out of thin air),
how much are their votes worth compared to the enormous goodwill that it would generate from the public?

Like we have limits on donations in Ireland so a very small community of people can’t have disproportionately large lobbying on political policies. So if it’s not a money thing, how many votes are lost!?

Curious as to what people think.

What’s the landscape of university elected senator panel?
The senate in general is a bit of a dark horse, but at least I understand the party nominated candidates as a trial / later career placement. The university panel however makes no sense to me.

There’s no party affiliations so these are huge campaign costs? Wouldnt it make more sense to put the money towards running for TD?

Only sending mail to all the alumni is also a bizarre campaigning method?

What are the main voter ideologies within the constituency? I would have thought more progressive but then there’s conservative senators.

What’s the typical candidate to run also, seems to be extremely varied?

Really appreciative if anyone has any insight as I’m genuinely curious and can’t find much blunt information online.
