Doesn’t seem like we’re getting OT + Holiday OT

Doesn’t seem like we’re getting OT + Holiday OT

Reached over 40 hours yesterday, was hoping regular overtime and holiday overtime for today would be separate but I guess not 😔

.54 cube size @ 60k volume today

Was put on unloading today and all I gotta say is what the fucking hell man. 60k is about 20k below regular prime volume for my site but I see why it was that now lol

Pre-Prime Prime

Do things feel fucked for anyone else already? I get that things are ramping up but Jesus Christ. Consistently high cube every day, high volume, crashes just about every day, and we’re STILL on 3 aisles each for stowing. So many people are showing up late to where P1 and part of P2 are just an absolute shitshow; they’re gonna burn everyone out before prime even gets here. Not to mention they’ve only recently started onboarding new hires, less than a month before prime. I get that Amazon wants to extract every bit of labor they can while keeping costs low but this doesn’t seem sustainable

Anyone else feel like Amazon is going a little overboard with the labor cost-savings this year?

It could just be my site, but I've noticed a few things over the last month or so that have been bothering me:

- The constant VTO drops; some of them are like 2 weeks in advance, and sometimes they'll add another 1 or 2 VTO drops as it gets closer to that shift. Which I kind of get, it's the slow season, fine. But lately it's been a complete 50/50 as to how fucked that shift's gonna be, either it's still completely overstaffed or so under headcount there's constant crashes.

- Speaking of headcount, leadership has been on the floor a lot lately to make up for being under headcount. And I don't mean they'll stow a little bit or maybe spend an hour as straightener with their laptop cart next to them; they're consistently stowing, line loading, unloading trailers, on straightener, inducting, all of it for 2, 3, even 4 hours at a time. Not just the PA's and the AMs, but the OMs have had a big presence on the floor too

- Prime is coming up in about a month now, and there's been practically no hiring. Volume is slowly increasing, and all I've seen hiring-wise is like 4 new delivery drivers lol

- The OVs. The cube volume (we've been at .45-.47 all of this week so far). It's getting so bad and so high and yet we're still told to send every OV down the belt regardless of how big it is, as long as it's an OV and not a non-con it gets thrown onto the belt. It does end up costing more labor-wise if there's more OVs for the non-con people to induct and stow but when stowers are regularly assigned 3 aisles people are going to burn out, and they're going to burn out hard. Nobody gives a crap about the blue lights any more, jackpot is completely fucked most of the time, and people are using their PTO constantly (during this "slow" season, mind you)

What do y'all think?
