blending makes such a difference!

Continuing on last years World of Wool advent box, I decided to blend day 4 (No Comment) using hand carders rather than keep the highly variegated colours. I'm so glad I did. Loving this peachy apricoty result! (link to the reddit post the last image comes from - I forgot to take one myself before I started spinning so thanks u/protoveridical). I do really like the lemony yellow in the initial blend, and wish it popped out more. But there was too much of the red and I just knew I'd lose the yellow in the marling anyway had I kept it as-is.

Matches the weight of day 1 quite well, but is a little on the thin side. Day 2 is still thicker (I skipped 3 because I do not think it's going to work in a sweater project, it's too fragile and will just pill!). I need to keep an eye on my gauge for future spins if I want any kind of consistency 😆

We'll see how day 5 goes!

To frog or not? I don't love the final project :(

A while ago I spun up the most luxury fibre in my stash, a qiviut, cashmere, merino, silk, tencel and angora rabbit blend - it is heavenly! here's a link so I can be an enabler if anyone is interested 😆- mods I can remove that if it counts as an ad (although I'm not affiliated with them in any way).
Anyway, I finally finished the project I wanted to make... But I don't love it.

I should clarify, I like the yarn but not the project.
So should I frog the whole damn thing? It has been blocked now, so I have slight concerns about doing that if any of the fluff has started to felt/full in the cloth. But it should still be possible.

If I do frog, does anyone have any pattern suggestions? I honestly have no idea of yardage, but I can cross that bridge when I come to it 😆

The yarn is also not as consistent as I'd like (I included a pic of the fresh skein on the niddy noddy where you can really see this - it was very disappointing to discover I'd not checked my gauge enough, especially for such a nice fibre!). If I frog I'm tempted to un-ply about a third of it and re-spin one of the two singles to improve consistency, but is mostly a very light fingering weight yarn and 100ish grams.

I was aiming for lace but I drifted too far towards thicker plies in the latter half of the spin, which you can see clearly if you compare one end of the stole to the other 🙁 I have undone some of my handspun before and fiddled with ply thickness, and I swore never to do it again. But here we are 😆 I think for this one it would help that I would only be doing that for a maximum third of the skein, not the whole thing. So that option is on the table.

My issues with the knitting side of the project are firstly the 'fit', I should have made fewer pattern repeats as the shawl/scarf/whatever it has ended up being is too wide and not long enough. I can wear it as a shoulder-hugging wrap, but it is not long enough to wrap around completely like a scarf.

Second issue is the colour/pattern clash. I thought my gradient/heathering would be light enough to still carry a lace pattern, but now I'm seeing it methinks I was wrong. I can probably live with this though.

Third issue is I ballsed up the pattern, but that's a me-problem and it looks fine with regard to that. Just different to how it should look. Which no-one else would know but me, but I still know. Again, could probably live with this 😆

So what would you do? Chalk it up to experience and keep it, try to wear it occasionally still or just frog the whole thing, fix the spinning issues then re-knit into something different? If so, what?
It is so so so soft and warm, I'm leaning towards a cowl or something that can snug up around the neck on very cold days. And of course I finish it and debate this on the hottest day of the year so far...

tl;dr - help! should I put extra hours in, frog, re-spin some of this or just sit with the less-than-perfect project I've managed to achieve?

ever loved the fluff but hate the spin?

I've finally got around to spinning the advent from last year from world of wool, and upon opening day 2 back in December (and again now), I loved the way the gingerbread looked! I can see the inspiration, and love how light and fluffy and fun it is!
But... I'm really disliking the final spin :(
Not sure why, it doesn't look all that different. Oh well. We'll see how it looks as part of the set when I'm done. (blend is merino/sari silk)

I think it's mostly because there's too much colour sprinkled in for me. If I had this blend again I'd definitely spin it thicker and fluffier, more like a woollen/semi-woollen dk weight (rather than the worsted fingering weight I've done here) to puff it out and spread the colour a bit more. But I honestly think I'd spend a while pulling some of the sari silk out, to let the ginger merino shine more...

Anyone else run into spinner's regret lately? ;)
