Arsenal have agreed a deal worth more than £50m to sign Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa. The 28-year-old England international will have a medical before completing the move. Konsa helped Villa win the Europa League last season and played every game for England at the World Cup.
Israel has withdrawn its support for Gianni Infantino’s re-election as FIFA president. The move follows criticism of his leadership and the failed plan to bring private investment into World Cup rights. England, Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland have also withdrawn their support.

Cagliari forward Yael Trepy is out of a medically induced coma after being rescued unconscious from a swimming pool in Sardinia. The 20-year-old is awake and has no clear neurological problems, but remains in intensive care for close monitoring.

Barcelona have agreed a deal worth about £65m to sign Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City. The 30-year-old will reportedly sign a four-year contract. Inter Milan have signed England full-back Djed Spence from Tottenham for about £25.6m. The 26-year-old has agreed a five-year deal. Spence played all eight of England’s World Cup games and made 44 appearances for Spurs last season. He previously spent time on loan at Genoa.

Ciro Immobile has retired from professional football at 36 after ending his contract with Paris FC. The Italian striker scored 201 Serie A goals, including 169 for Lazio. He made 12 appearances for Paris FC, scoring twice, after moving from Bologna during the winter transfer window.
Liverpool owners FSG have agreed to sell about 30% of the club to a group including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Amit Bhatia and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin. FSG will keep control. The deal values Liverpool at £5bn-£6bn, but will not add to the transfer budget.
PSG have agreed a deal in principle to sign Barcelona forward Ferran Torres for around €50m (£42.7m). The 26-year-old scored 21 goals last season and helped Spain win the 2026 World Cup. He is expected to become PSG’s second major forward signing this summer.

Julián Álvarez is reportedly angry after failing to speak with Diego Simeone and Atlético CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín about his future. He wants to join Barcelona and has warned the club: “Don’t count on me.” He could push harder to leave when Simeone returns on Wednesday.
