Can property tax be paid online for Junagadh Municipal Corporation?

Does anyone know if property tax can currently be paid online for Junagadh Municipal Corporation?

I used to pay my property tax through the JMC website, and it was working fine earlier: jumc.gujarat.gov.in

However, the "Property Tax" menu now redirects to another page, but that page doesn't seem to open.

I'm currently outside Junagadh, so paying the tax offline isn't really an option for me.

Has anyone recently been able to pay Junagadh property tax online, or knows if there's an alternative website/portal?

Introvert's perspective on investment in India

As someone who leans introverted, I realized something:

Real estate is probably not for me.

Not because it’s a bad asset class.

But because it involves too many human interactions and negotiations.

Think about it:

1.First you deal with brokers while buying. Some are honest, some are not. You negotiate brokerage, property price, paperwork, etc.

2.Then you deal with the seller negotiation.

3.After buying, you again deal with brokers to find tenants.

4.Then comes rent negotiation every year.

5.If tenant and neighbour fight, you get dragged into it.

6.If tenant creates legal trouble, police may get involved.

7.If it’s land/plot, there’s always fear of illegal occupancy or local goons creating problems.

A lot of people can handle this well.

I personally know I’ll hate every second of it.

Mutual funds suit my personality much better.

No broker drama

No tenant management

No rent negotiation

No police tension

No black money nonsense

No random calls from society members or maintenance people

I just invest regularly and go back to my peaceful life.

Maybe extroverts are naturally better suited for real estate investing in India.

PS: This is not investment advice. Just a random observation from a guy who leans introverted, chose mutual funds over property, and sleeps peacefully because of it.

Watched GT vs SRH live in Ahmedabad – Things you don’t see on TV

Watched GT vs SRH live in Ahmedabad, and honestly, stadium cricket gives you a completely different perspective compared to TV.

I thought I’d share some things that stood out—both about the stadium experience and the actual cricket happening behind the scenes.

1. Stadium experience & facilities

Crowd management – surprisingly well designed

One thing I genuinely appreciated was how the stadium is designed to avoid bottlenecks.

  • Entry/exit routes are spread out.
  • Food, washrooms, and movement areas are distributed well.
  • It feels like the design itself tries to prevent stampede-like situations.

That said…

  • Gate 1 was definitely overcrowded.
  • There was some discomfort entering.

By Indian standards, still manageable—but there’s room for improvement.

Seating & ground design

  • Seats are decent… but definitely not built for sitting comfortably for 4–5 hours.
  • Not terrible, not luxurious—just functional.
  • The stadium design itself is excellent.

From our seats:

  • ✅ Could see the entire ground clearly
  • ✅ Great angles for field placements
  • ❌ If the person in front keeps standing up… your experience suffers (more on that later 😅)

The water situation was brutal

Ahmedabad summer + no outside water allowed = not fun.

I understand why bottles aren’t allowed (people can throw them), but still…

  • Not being allowed to carry water in that heat felt inhuman.
  • Inside, the only option was overpriced drinks.

₹100 for Campa Cola became hydration 😅

Surely there’s a better solution.

Food policy

Same story with food.

  • Outside food not allowed.
  • Inside food available… but expensive.

I understand they can’t allow people to walk in with lunch boxes.

But some middle ground would help.

I was basically hungry till almost 11 PM.

Washrooms

Honest review:

  • Dirty? Yes.
  • Unusable? No.

Compared to typical railway station/bus station public toilets…

…it was actually better.

By Indian standards:

**6.5/10**

Functional, but definitely improvable.

Watching live vs watching on TV

This was the biggest surprise.

TV gives you replays, close-ups, and perfect angles.

Stadium gives you atmosphere…

…but sometimes steals the actual moment.

Every time:

  • ball went in the air
  • catch opportunity came
  • six looked possible

…the entire row in front would stand up.

Result?

I missed:

  • catches
  • sixes
  • fielding efforts
  • even parts of key moments

Annoying? Yes.

Any solution? Probably not 😄

That’s just stadium cricket.

Crowd behavior

This was pleasantly surprising.

There were SRH fans around us too.

  • GT fans celebrated GT moments.
  • SRH fans celebrated SRH moments.
  • No abuse.
  • No fights.
  • No unnecessary toxicity.

Just cricket.

Loved that.

2. Cricket observations (Things you don’t notice on TV)

We entered around 7 PM, just around toss time.

And this is where things got interesting.

Post-toss warm-up: Pat Cummins & Varun Aaron

After the toss:

  • Varun Aaron was doing wicketkeeping drills while other SRH bowlers were warming up.
  • Then Pat Cummins came in.
  • Varun ran to him, said something, and gestured a specific line/length.
  • Pat then bowled an absolute leg-stump yorker.
  • They immediately high-fived.

Maybe coincidence…

…but it genuinely looked like they were discussing a plan for Buttler.

Because Buttler got dismissed in a very similar fashion by Bhuvi.

Could be reading too much into it…

…but from the stands, it looked intentional.

GT players post-toss

Interesting contrast:

SRH were actively practicing.

GT players?

Just chilling 😄

  • No visible urgency.
  • Very relaxed body language.

GT batting observations

Sai Sudharsan is all about timing

Watching him live was eye-opening.

He plays the ball very late.

It honestly felt like:

> “This guy won’t get out unless he takes a risk.”

And his timing…

One cut shot especially:

  • Looked like there was almost no power in it and he was late on ball but he was not.
  • Still went for six.

That’s pure timing.

Same with Gill.

Neither looked like they were trying to muscle the ball.

Just timing.

SRH bowling plan

One clear thing:

SRH were bowling much fuller than GT.

Lots of:

  • yorkers
  • full balls
  • attacking the stumps

Very little freebies.

These full balls were successful in restricting GT but they couldn't take enough wickets with those balls.

Jason Holder’s innings (very interesting live)

Watching Holder live was fascinating.

He was:

  • extremely still at the crease
  • hardly moving forward/backward

It felt like he was waiting for one thing only:

> “Give me one slot ball.”

SRH never gave it.

Instead:

  • yorkers
  • full tosses
  • straight lines

Holder kept playing straight.

No innovation.

Then something funny happened…

For 3–4 balls, Pat Cummins stood almost directly behind the bowler, MS Dhoni-style fielding position.

Almost like:

> “I know exactly where this guy is hitting.”

And Holder… still kept going straight 😄

Ended up with 11 off 10.

My biggest batting takeaway

Across both teams:

Whenever batters waited for the right ball to hit 4 or 6..

✅ Success.

Whenever batters tried to manufacture shots that weren’t there…

❌ Trouble.

Examples:

  • Buttler
  • Sai
  • Nishant

Washington was probably the exception. He could manufacture 4s and 6s.

SRH innings & GT bowling observations

Funny part:

We actually missed Travis Head’s wicket…

Because the water queue was massive 😭

Rabada

Watching Rabada live was unreal.

He felt like a bowling machine.

  • Same action.
  • Same intensity.
  • Same hard length and Same pace.

From my angle:

I couldn’t notice much variation.

Maybe he changed lines but from my angle, I couldn't judge varying lines of any.

But visually, it looked relentless.

Siraj

Very similar story.

  • Found his length.
  • Kept hitting it.
  • No experimentation.
  • Just discipline.

Prasidh Krishna

He looked different.

He seemed willing to experiment.

  • Tried short ball → got hit for six by Cummins.
  • Went a little bit fuller soon after → got the wicket.

That adjustment was visible live.

Holder with the ball

Again…

  • Relentless.
  • Hard lengths.
  • High pace.

I honestly don’t remember many slower balls from GT all night.

And clearly…

whatever they’re doing is working 😄

3. Final thoughts – something TV doesn’t show

Watching live made me appreciate one thing:

How physically brutal IPL actually is.

We see players on TV and think:

> “These guys make insane money.”

True.

But live, you realize how hard this actually is.

Think about it:

  • Hotel → Stadium
  • Stadium → Hotel
  • City → City flights
  • Constant media obligations
  • Practice sessions
  • Match pressure

And your:

  • sleep schedule
  • food schedule
  • recovery
  • even basic routine

…gets destroyed.

GT played in Jaipur on Sunday.

Then travelled.

Then played again in Ahmedabad with basically no breathing space.

Add bowling at 145 km/h on top of that.

Respect.

And one final IPL thought…

If GT want to win the IPL…

Top 2 is everything.

Why?

Because teams finishing 3rd or 4th usually need to:

  • travel more
  • play more
  • recover less
  • win 3 high-pressure games in a row

Meanwhile the top team gets:

  • ✅ Extra recovery
  • ✅ Tactical prep time
  • ✅ Fresher bodies

That’s exactly why historically very few teams from 3rd/4th have actually gone on to win the IPL.

It's hard for weaker and tired number 3/4 team to beat fresh and stronger number 1/2 team back to back.

(SRH 2016 being one famous exception.)

So if GT want that trophy…

Winning the next two games and finishing Top 2 is absolutely critical.

Let's hope for the best 🏆💙
