Am I just destined to be alone or do decent *single* men exist?

I’m 41(f), straight and have been separated working towards divorce for 2 years. I’m not the type to use dating apps or bar hop etc, but I just feel like finding someone organically (you know- in real life) is a myth these days. I respect myself too much to just have random one night stands and I’m honestly just overwhelmed with the lack of integrity and dignity that I’ve come in contact with. I work full time, pay my own bills and am not looking for a new spouse or a father for my kid. I just want someone to be my friend/person with the added bonus of spicy benefits- that isn’t banging a bunch of other women putting my health and well being at risk. Someone to hang out with and travel with, to set goals and enjoy each other’s company. I’m pretty fit, don’t smoke and only drink occasionally. But for real- it seems like finding someone that would fit in with all of this is the equivalent of coming upon a legit unicorn or something- it just doesn’t seem to exist. I’ve dated a little- and it’s an actual joke. Some men seem to want to control me- what I wear/who I talk to, some want to go from meeting to living together in 5 minutes, others ask for money and others are in committed relationships that they hide at first. WHY oh why is it so damn difficult to find someone of substance at my age? A man that has a job and can support themself, isn’t skeezy, is in decent health And has an actual moral compass? Am I just expecting too much?
