[THANK YOU] August Happy Mail ~ Part 5

Hello all! It is once again time for another round of gratitude! In no particular order:

  • Thank you u/pumkinseed100 for your Disappointing Affirmations postcard! I got a chuckle out of the affirmation, and I liked reading your mantra, too! I hope you're well and that you continue to attract abundance! ☮️
  • Thank you u/GenXinGA for your London Calling postcard! A close friend of mine also shares a love of the UK with me, and I was lucky enough to visit London nearly a year ago. I got to tour Samuel Johnson's house, see several Snoopy doghouse sculptures along Fleet Street, experience the winter markets, visit Gosh comics (meeting John Alison in the meanwhile), and more! There's never a shortage of things to do in London. 💂🏻
  • Thank you u/Ravenzsnow for your postcard featuring a mountain in red dawn. The quote really struck me ("A tired life needs a gentle dream and a loved one."), and as I'm currently recuperating from a long work period, it's true! Please don't worry about sending me a card so late... I have several cards that I need to catch up on that I also wish I could send mail all day every day. 🏔️
  • Thank you u/MajesticLeadership87 for your postcard of Franklin with the Peppermint Patty stamp! I absolutely love it! I also love the Charles M. Schulz quote you included: he's absolutely right in that a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt, especially dark chocolate or any unique kind of combination. I hope you're well! 🍫
  • Thank you u/aepeyc for your postcard featuring a sculpture of Aphrodite! You pose a very intriguing question about museums housing artifacts that are from somewhere else (especially European museums). It's something I've grown more conscious of in my adult years visiting various museums. I also believe that if places of origin want their artifacts back, then they should be returned to them! I also think that, if they cannot be returned for whatever reason, that there should be better disclosure about it. Also, there should be more local museums featuring local history or artifacts; we have one in the valley featuring art items from various indigenous tribes in the state, as well as the history of residential schools. 🖼️
  • Thank you u/BubblySunflowers for your postcard of Patches! I have also been told that I would be a black cat due to my personality, lol. I think a German Shepard / Lab mix would be really cool, as would all the dog activities. My boyfriend is definitely a Golden Retriever, but I feel like I would be a Jack Russell or Maltese. 🐶
  • Thank you u/dropofpoison86 for your Pixar postcard! It took me a hot minute to realize what movie this still is from - and it wasn't even a movie, it was the Boundin' short that I have not seen! AUGH! I watched Coco some time ago, and I was also crying by the end! It's such a sweet movie with awe-inspiring visuals! I hope that Coco 2 is just as impressive. If I had to choose a favorite Pixar movie, I think it would be WALL-E, if not Ratatouille. 🐏
  • Thank you u/VoxFugit for sending me one of your favorite postcards! I also really enjoy it; it has such a freeing connotation to it. I appreciate you thinking of me enough to send it my way! I hope you're doing well! 🩱
  • Thank you u/turnerd10 for your summer postcard, as well as the plant sticker! I also appreciate you sending me balloon art from u/sammanthax345! I like to think they are celebratory, both for summer and for my birthday! 🌞
  • Thank you u/ToastyToska for your postcard of Dreams From My Father by Barack Obama! I was fortunate enough to visit the Obama Center Museum during the summer. Viewing the various exhibits of his work and Michelle's work, as well as their tenures at the White House, filled me with so much hope for the future, even in the face of current political turmoil and despair. My mother especially was moved to tears; she has read both Barack and Michelle's works. I need to start doing so soon. Have a good one! 📔
  • Thank you u/EchoOfAsh for your Effin' Birds postcard! I love watching osprey cams, and the bird fact absolutely made me laugh! I hope you have a great week as well! 🐦
  • Thank you u/ez330 for your random postcard featuring The Big Galah of Kimba, South Australia! I'm happy to have played, and I hope you're having a good summer, too! 🃏

That's all for now!

[THANK YOU] Good Movies as Old Books Postcard

Thank you u/Aztec111 for your postcard of Get Out as if it were an old book! It was a fun card to receive just right after my birthday! Oddly enough, I still have not seen the film (or any Jordan Peele movie for that matter), but I know how good and creepy it is! I hope to watch it for Halloween this year; I'm already trying to plot out what movies I want to watch for the first time.

I hope you're well and that you enjoyed your trip! 🎞️

[THANK YOU] August Happy Mail ~ Part 4

Hi all! I am back with another round of gratitude! A lot of happy mail has made its way to my mailbox, and it's been such a bright spot amidst the busy prep time before the school year. In no particular order:

  • Thank you u/Sable__ for your Winnie the Pooh postcard! It's so nostalgic! So cool that you used to volunteer at an animal shelter! I also get a kick out of pets with strange names, or even food names! Many of my colleagues at work have pets with food names. If you want punny names, you should watch the Stanley Pup! 🐶
  • Thank you u/terrorcatmom for your floral greeting card and your message! I appreciate you sharing more about the origins of your username. I hope you had a fun time at the pride parade and hope you were in it! 🐈‍⬛
  • Thank you u/hapa1720 for your garden picnic collage postcard! It does remind me of Alice in Wonderland, too. So happy I got to do this exchange with you and share one of my favorite recipes with you! Please let me know if you enjoy it or not! (Also, as a side note, wild that they build 3 In-N-Outs near you; they just built another Chick-Fil-A near me... half a mile down from the other one...). 🧺
  • Thank you u/YarnivorousPlants for your collage postcard! That's so awesome that you've been learning to quilt and that you've completed your second project! I hope to reach a point where I can quilt. So far, I learned how to do a few hand embroidery stitches (whipped stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch), and the chain stitch got me so excited! 🪡
  • Thank you u/bac_a_sable_mouvant for your postcard of Kyoto! I have missed the rain since moving out to the desert, so receiving your rainy postcard was comforting. It might have actually summoned some of the rains over the last week. I am doing well and managing myself in the heat as well as I can. I hope you enjoyed your time at the sea! ⛈️
  • Thank you u/freyamour for your ephemera postcard, as well as additional mushroom art! I have not really been camping, but I have watched a few sunrises from porches or hikes, and they have been so nice. I love how beautiful nature is as well; one of my favorite places to go is the botanical garden or arboretum. 🌄
  • Thank you u/TyeDyeAmish for your vintage postcard of a steak diner with a classic Coca Cola ad! Absolutely wild that you encountered a man with a huge bird on each shoulder! One time, I went to one of my favorite coffeeshops, and I saw a guy with a blue and yellow macaw! It was wild! 🦜
  • Thank you u/stillsheryl for your greeting card! So glad that you loved the spider crab card! Here is the set if you're interested in getting it. There really is something amazing about sea creatures; I love going to aquariums to learn more about what lives under the sea. I hope you have had an amazing summer as well; sounds like you're discovering a lot about your new place! I hope you also enjoyed The Odyssey and Moana; very fitting movies as we talked about the sea! 🌊
  • Thank you u/NeurospicyxEnby for your greeting card, your book recommendations, and your many stickers! It is kind of mind-blowing to realize that several books on disability actually aren't as accessible as one would think. Whether it's due to cost or mode (physical, ebook, audiobook), or some of other kind of issue, it does seem to right into the point that there are still accessibility issues. I appreciate all of these recommendations, and I have heard of the Blair Imani title! 📚
  • Thank you u/sunflowr_prnce for your Elektra postcard! I have only ever seen the movie with Jennifer Garner, but even that was along time ago. I need to read more into the Marvel comics featuring her. I hope you're well and that you have a great weekend ahead! 🥷🏻
  • Thank you u/CrystalMoth- for your postcard of the Paul Bunyan Center, as well as the stamp math! I appreciate you sharing the joy with me. Since being part of Postcrossing and RAoC, I've developed some interest in stamp-collecting and stamp expos. I'll have to see if there are some in my area. I hope you're well! 💌
  • Thank you u/dreams_child for your Lughnasadh greeting card, as well as the awesome bookmark! So happy that I get to celebrate the first harvest with you and the RAoC community! I hope to reap the rewards of the season and have continuous success with my plant babies thriving. In the future, I hope to start growing some herbs, too. Sending an abundance of good vibes your way! 🌱

That's all for now!

[THANK YOU] August Happy Mail ~ Part 3

Hello again everyone! Time to tackle more of my growing stack of August happy mail! In no particular order:

  • Thank you u/chiquita61 for your sweet postcard! It's so pretty! I hope you had a wonderful birthday and that you're doing well! 🎂
  • Thank you u/tigerlady13 for your postcard of the Hoh Rain Forest! It absolutely looks like another world you could enter! That it's only 2 hours away from you is real neat. I haven't been in a forest environment in a hot minute. 🌲
  • Thank you u/hluevsai for your Bob Ross postcard and cute stickers you adorned it with! I love the "Graceful Mountains" painting too. I have heard of the song "Crystal" by Stevie Nicks! It's a wonderful song, and it makes me happy to hear that the song triggers this image for you! Every painting is indeed a learning experience. 🎨
  • Thank you u/credo99 for your postcard featuring flower art by Dick Bruna (creator of Miffy)! I can imagine your hand would be aching after writing so many cards! Thank you for telling me about your trip to Seoul! I hope you are feeling relaxed and recharged. 💐
  • Thank you u/NerdyMina for your cute cat card! I appreciate you exchanging with me, and I enjoyed reading about the animal that you would choose! I wrote more in my card to you, but I agree that being a bird bird gliding around the sky would be cool! 😻
  • Thank you u/stillsheryl for your postcard of London! I'm so glad that you go to meet up with a fellow RAoCer and treat yourself to a total self-care day! I hope you had a great first day at your new job and that it's still going well! Have a great week! 💆🏻‍♀️

[THANK YOU] July Happy Mail ~ Part 4: Birthday Edition

Hi again! The final part of my July Happy Mail series is dedicated to those who sent me birthday mail! (Although, some other mail featured in my last post had postmarks on my birthday, which was a nice touch.) In no particular order:

  • Thank you u/Eastern-Witch829 for your coloring postcard of Glacier National Park! I like the facts about the northern pygmy owls, as well as the poem outlining the back of the card. I can't wait to have a chill coloring session! 🦉
  • Thank you u/BlueStripedBaker for your upcycled card from the King Arthur HQ, as well as the ice cream watercolor! (Fun fact: I had ice cream on 2 occassions during my birthday week; there's no such thing as too much ice cream when the flavors are so good!) I enjoyed reading your humble beginnings with baking, and I'm so happy that you are enjoying the ride! I have not attempted to make a Yule Log or a Baked Alaska, but I imagine that they make you go "Wow!" If you haven't made a hummingbird cake, that would be a fun one; my aunt made one for my birthday, and I'm still thinking about it days later. 🍨
  • Thank you u/pupslace for the wonderful birthday card and cool birthday envelope! I love the ink stamps that you used, as well as your stamp math! So cool that the postmark is from the National Postal Museum Station in D.C.! 🎈
  • Thank you u/Mission_Cow_6742 for the awesome Story Book greeting card featuring wildlife! It's a joy to look at, and opening your card felt like I was reading a wonderful, cozy book! I appreciate your birthday wishes, as well as the extra cute stickers and stationary you included! I had a very relaxing birthday day (amidst the rest of my birthday week shenanigans), and I had plenty of delicious treats! 📗
  • Thank you u/bananas3706 for your fun birthday card! The giraffes with sunglasses and party hats are so funny! I appreciate your birthday wishes and look forward to community, joy, delicious meals, and all the fun snail mail (and also no parking tickets, haha). Thank you for the floral stickers and stamp stickers as well! They're all so cute! 🦒
  • Thank you u/Beneficial-Ant2217 for your gorgeous watercolor birthday cake card, along with the cute assortment of stickers! It made it in time for my birthday (in fact, a few weeks before, I was willing myself to not open your envelope before my birthday!). Thank you for your birhtday wishes and message full of positivity; I will be sure to hold onto them as I embark on this next year. Also, I can't wait to try the green tea with strawberry and white peach flavors!

That's all as far as specific thank yous go, but I want to thank the whole RAoC community for adding to a wonderful birthday week! Whether commenting a birthday wish or just thinking of me, I feel so happy to be here and am grateful to have met so many kind people!

See you in my August Happy Mail series!

[THANK YOU] July Happy Mail ~ Part 3.5

Hi again! Before my last post in this July Happy Mail series, I wanted to thank those who sent me travelling cards! Thank you to u/boomerang88 for letting me kick off the Rainbow Travelling Card, and thank you to u/mouserat for sending along the The Forest Travelling Card (the mailing distance was very short and sweet, haha).

Additional thank you to u/mouserat for sending me a postcard note from you with the TPC; I like doing that when I forward along travelling cards, too. 😊

Offers to come as soon as I actually finish contributing to the cards!

[THANK YOU] July Happy Mail ~ Part 3

Hello everyone! I started writing this on the last day of July, and now it's the second day of August. So, I figured now is a better time than any to catch up on my July thank yous! These are non-birthday-related thank yous (that'll be another post), but without further ado, and in no particular order:

  • Thank you u/puddlepirate2020 for your postcard of New York City and for current Spotify playlist energy! I have listened to songs by Yung Gravy and bbno$, but had no idea that their collaboration project is named Baby Gravy. Makes total sense, though! This song is definitely one to enjoy by myself, haha. I remember when Spotify would recommend me a bunch of stuff that sounded like my "meme songs" The song living rent-free in my head right now is "Get Down On It" by Kool & The Gang, and I do recommend the groovy boogie to anyone liking funky music. 📻
  • Thank you u/fooskaaa for your Ulta x Milk postcard! Hilarious that this card ended up flying as soon as you were trying to grab more. Truly, this card was like "I know where I'm going!" Hope you are doing well! 💄
  • Thank you u/TroubleNo5402 for your postcard of Bahubali Statue! What a nice card and quote! As a yin yoga follower, it makes me very happy to go to class and feel restored in mind, body, and spirit. I appreciate you sharing with me that International Yoga Day is on June 21. I hope you're well! 🧘🏻
  • Thank you u/Tasty_University_172 for your Dragon Furby postcard and reading! Your art is such a joy to look at, and I instantly smiled and laughed once I got it in my mailbox. I found myself relating to the reading quite a bit! I hope you are well! 🐉
  • Thank you u/Okioki08 for your Odyssey postcard! I love the simple compass and the light teal primary color. It's absolutely fair to think that The Spongebob Squarepants Movie is a close adaptation of The Odyssey, haha! It was one of my favorite childhood films growing up! I really need to re-read the epic after seeing the Christopher Nolan adaptation in 70mm IMAX. 🧭
  • Thank you u/bitterbuggyred for your super colorful handmade maxi postcard! I love the compact opening up into a donut playground / house! Your cursive is so lovely, and I love the rainbow penmanship! I've always wondered what goes into mail routing and sorting; your job sounds so neat! I'm glad that you help to spread happy mail and positivity to everyone with this activity. 🍩
  • Thank you u/LjubJ for your wonderful postcard! A book and some good music is such a lovely way to unwind. I am doing well and recovering from birthday shenanigans, and while the weather over here is very hot, at least indoors is comfy enough to focus on RAoC / Postcrossing catch-up (and also a nap, heehee). I hope you are well! 😊
  • Thank you u/SshellsBbells for your sugar skull greeting card with the extra cool stickers! I'm so glad that you love the Women in Art postcard! So cool that you worked in an art museum in the past! If I wasn't in a library today, I would love to get experience working in a museum. I hope you're well, and sending hugs! 🎨
  • Thank you u/Rare_Cranberry_7861 for your First Day of Issue Covers, as well as your postcard note! I appreciate how you love to share your collection and love of stamps with other people! I will reply to more of your note in separate snail mail, but rest assured that I love the ones you selected to best fit my theme. 💌

That's all for now!

[THANK YOU] July Happy Mail ~ Part 1

Hello everyone! It is officially the middle of July, the perfect time to start my July happy mail gratitude! As always, this is in no particular order, but to kick it off:

  • Thank you u/FeistyNoodle for your postcard of Diablo Dam in Seattle! I did have a good day, and getting your card in the mail made that day better. I can only imagine what the World Cup traffic was like! We didn't get games out in the desert, but the bars and restaurants are certainly packed for World Cup games. Glad you got to work on cards! ⚽
  • Thank you u/Better-Review-4022 for your postcard of Parke Juarez in Xalapa! Thank you for letting me know about the signature dish, too! I feel like I might have had one in the past (a cheese one), and it was delicious! It's nice that Xalapa also has farmer's markets everywhere; when one is in my area, I definitely try to go. 🌶️
  • Thank you u/snerdboff for your postcard of Ruth Bader Ginsburg! I appreciate how she was a great inspiration to you. She was a fighter through and through, and such an strong female role model to my mom. She is going to love it! 👩🏻‍⚖️
  • Thank you u/mumbamakincards for your handmade card! It was so lovely to receive! I love the color story and the green dragonfly! It really was so cool to see so many RAoCers on the meet-up call! I really hope we can do it again soon. Hope you are doing well! 📬
  • Thank you u/Tasty_University_172 for your Horror Movie & Gematria Divination offer. I experience such an energy surge realizing how much your reading resonated with me and my current situation. I appreciate you taking time to do my reading, and I am making sure to put in the work I need. 👤
  • Thank you u/dapuddingthief for your watercolor cuss word postcard! I also love seeing cuss words in fancy, pretty font! Your have such a cool talent to do watercolor calligraphy! Thank you for telling me about the tools you use to make this magic happen! I hope you're well! 🫟
  • Thank you u/Independent_Mud2700 for your postcard of the Lamoille River and Prospect Rock! Glad you decided to make an adventure out of the trip to Vermont! It's pretty cool that Vermont is known for both maple syrup and artisan cheeses! You would think maple syrup would be exclusively known to Canada, but it's nice that at least one of the U.S. states is known for it, too! I hope you had a wonderful time! 🍁
  • Thank you u/LjubJ for your postcard of Britney Spears! I love your design; it perfectly captures the late 90s / 2000s era of Britney. So cool that you sang in the choir for 5 years; do you ever like to do karaoke, and if so, do you sing any Britney Spears songs? Reading the artists you listened to back in the day reminded me of what I listened to back then, too! Have a beautiful day as well! 🎤
  • Thank you u/Eastern-Witch829 for your postcard from the Evanescence World Tour! My boyfriend and I recently went, and although we only got to listen to Nova Twins' set from outside (since we were waiting 30 minutes in line to get into the massive venue...), we caught all of Spiritbox's and Evanescence's sets from our spots! What a fantastic show it was! I got such a newfound appreciation for Evanescence now, and it was my third time seeing Spiritbox. Your photo turned out fantastic! Let me know if you want to see any of mine. 🤘🏻

That's all for now!

[THANK YOU] June Happy Mail ~ Part 6

Alright, think this might be the last of my June Happy Mail thank you series! We made it, even if it took a hot while! (Thanks, life, work, and other shenanigans...) Anyway, in no particular order:

  • Thank you u/pupslace for your awesome postcard of a ute panel in Arches National Park! Glad you were able to send off the traveling postcard, and grateful for your advice on the javelinas. I haven't encountered one yet on hikes, but good to know they are mean little things. I hope you got that break from the heat; I'm hoping I get one at some point. ☀️
  • Thank you u/shouldbeteaching for you shiny postcard of the Eiffel Tower! Thank you for enjoying my note; I am happy to report that I read two books recently that got me out of my slump a little bit! One is Anger is Only a Shadow by Elizabeth Acevedo (I got an ARC from a conference, but it's out in September) and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely! I will let you know my thoughts on the other books as I get to them (hopefully soon, if Libby would hurry along with my audiobook holds). 📚
  • Thank you u/birdiebennett for your postcard of La Plage De Calvi Corse! I love how you adorned it with tiny stickers, and I am happy you had such a fun time at the RAoC Zoom meet-up! This card is super serene; it makes me think of all of my favorite beach memories! 🏖️
  • Thank you u/Monetmonkey for your cat postcard! Funnily enough, I encountered the artist on Postcrossing and got a card from her! I love her style of cats; I'll have to find how to get some of these for myself. Anyway, it was a great turnout for the RAoC Zoom meet-up, and I hope you had a fun time as well! Here's hoping another happens and we share a breakout room together! 😻
  • Thank you u/NoodleyParts for your envelope of happies! From the decorated envelope to the goodies inside, it made me feel great! I admit, it took me an embarrassingly long time to find your nickname amidst the messages and post history (this is what I get for having scatterbrain energy), but rest assured I found it and will send you some happies soon! 📨
  • Thank you u/Rare_Cranberry_7861 for your greeting card of a punk giraffe and the extra decorative sheets. Regarding my burnout, I do feel somewhat better since my last note, and I'm definitely finding time to where I can rest and catch up on some of my other mail. Thank you for sending an update letter to me, too. Big hug to you🫂

That's all for now!

[THANK YOU] June Happy Mail ~ Part 5 ~ Pride Edition

Hello everyone! I am back with another June thank-you post... in near-mid-July...
ANYWAY, this is the pride edition of my monthly series posts because several of you sent me cards to celebrate Pride Month. 🏳️‍🌈 In no particular order:

  • Thank you u/Starboard44 for your Marsha P. Johnson quote postcard! Your technological battles were well-fought, for this postcard arrived okay and is very cool to me! I appreciate you sharing one with me, and I can't wait to pair it with my copy of Marsha by Tourmaline. ✊🏻
  • Thank you u/rebelraf for your pride hearts postcard! I'm so happy to hear that you have positive memories and experiences with your events and celebrations. So cool that you also got to sell jewelry and accessories at smaller pride events! I hope you were able to celebrate this year, even amidst all of the political and social turmoil here. 👯‍♀️
  • Thank you u/postfromnathaliejd for your beary cute postcard! I also love how colorful Pride Month is compared to other months. Even the flags bring out the pops of color in my downtown area! It helps make the month feel more fun. (Also, hope it's cool I used your new username for the thanks!) 🐻
  • Thank you u/iheartcitrus for your rainbow postcard and envelope decorated with desert stickers! Thank you for your wonderful reminder and for referencing one of my favorite Cyndi Lauper songs. Happy Pride to you! 🌈
  • Thank you u/dreams_child for your pride greeting card with a slew of pride stickers! I felt giddy watching them fall right out of the card onto my desk! I can't wait to share them on cards or with others. Remember that you are so loved, too! 💌
  • Thank you u/Edgar_Allen_Hoe_69 for your thoughtful floral postcard (as well as the additional stickers)! I enjoyed your note and the lyrics you provided me, too. Sharing what pride means to us and what continues to make us proud of who we are helps the spirit persevere against adversity. 🎤

[OFFER] Travelling Postcard - Yes, No, Maybe [US to US / WW]

Hello RAoC! While preparing my cards for a thank-you post catch-up, I realized that I have kept a travelling card hostage! It is ready to go to its next contributor. I don't think there are any flair requirements for this one: just be active in the community, able to receive mail from the U.S., and able to pass it on to the next person (whether US or WW). First come first served!

[THANK YOU] June Happy Mail ~ Part 4

Hi all! It's officially July, and I ... am still working on my June thank yous! In no particular order...

  • Thank you u/turnerd10 for your Fourth of July card and additional stickers! I appreciate you sharing some patriotic spirit, even when a time where it's very hard to find some. I love the Uncle Sam illustration. Hope you are doing well! 🎇
  • Thank you u/mahkahlay for your handmade Wii Fish postcard! I absolutely love that I got the King of the Pond! That was the one I vied for the most when playing. I absolutely miss the Wii era of games: from Wii Sports and Wii Play to Smash Bros Brawl and Guitar Hero III, it was the one console that my family and I would share and enjoy all together. So many memories were made with that system, and some of my favorite games today are Wii games. Hope you are doing well! 🐟
  • Thank you u/Mission_Cow_6742 for your coyote postcard! So cool that you got to experience the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition! It gives such a cool glimpse of the natural world, and I love this playful image of the coyotes! Fitting that David Attenborough was involved with the inception; what an absolute legend. Hope you are doing well! 📸
  • Thank you u/mangosparklingwater for the cat greeting card and tiny envelope of stickers! The amount of joy that you put into this card, from your note to you numerous stickers of cute animals, is so thoughtful! I appreciate you sending playlist ideas for me, too! I've fallen so behind on sending cards as of late, and I know I owe you at least one card in return for your generosity. I hope you are doing well and able to swim amidst your classes! 😻
  • Thank you u/OhMyLordFrederick for your M. C. Escher postcard! This work has so much satisfying colorwork and geometry! It really does remind me of whirlpools. The "Wild West" print is so cool! You're absolutely correct in that it captures the essence of being in a movie theater! I hope you're having a great summer, too! 🖼️
  • Thank you u/lemonlolipopW for your cool postcard of dates, and more so for introducing me to Plave! I didn't realize there were other virtual Kpop idol groups, though I'm not surprised since it's such a versatile genre. I will have to give them a listen soon! 🎤
  • Thank you u/Tight_Ant_2587 for your floral greeting card and bonus stickers! It was so cool for us to attend the RAoC meetup! I'm also proud you were able to speak and feel excited about it! I would love to attend another one in the future, too, whether virtual or in-person! Thank you for answering my prompt; so cool that Arthur introduced you to it! I remember watching it as a kid, but I don't remember the particular penpaling moment... I'll have to dig it up somehow on YouTube. Anyway, so cool that you are part of both Postcrossing and RAoC! (I am as well, hee hee.) I love the aspects of discovery and connection! 📮
  • Thank you u/A_LanguageEnthusiast for your floral greeting card and dolphin sticker! It was nice to see you at the RAoC meetup! I appreciate the reminder about doing great. Your card did indeed brighten my day, and I'm doing well! This week, I'm smiling about the long weekend and the chance to reset. 🐬
  • Thank you u/SaltyMidgie for your tarot reading! I love the floral paper and leafy envelope that you used! I also appreciate you answering my question and specifying which spread you used. This spread really resonated with me, and every time I read what it means, I feel the energy. ✨

That's all for now! Till the next one!

[THANK YOU] June Happy Mail ~ Part 3

Another round of Thank Yous to spread out!

  • Thank you u/LeglessShark for your postcard! Hearing about how you got into postcard exchange and how much you enjoy it makes me so happy! My coworkers told me about Postcrossing, and I learned about RAoC through Reddit. Both have certainly helped me feel less lonely and more connected to others around the world. I'm hoping to make some new friends or pen pals, too. 🗺️
  • Thank you u/megandragola for your photo postcard of cottonwood trees! What a cool photo that you took; I remember having a lomography camera in my teens. Your note taught me more about the cottonwood trees, and I am so glad you had a good camping trip, too! So awesome you got to see a full blue moon! Hope you're well! 🌳
  • Thank you u/sergeant_bean45 for your snowy postcard! I definitely understand how the snow is becoming rarer ad rarer in your state (thanks, climate change...). I'm so happy that you enjoy sharing happiness and connecting with other people around the world. This hobby is so cool! ❄️
  • Thank you u/ai-oea for your wonderful postcard of various flowers! I do not miss the hot and humid weather of where I grew up; I really hope that it has eased up since you wrote me. The weather in the desert has been very hot and dry. Life has been very busy as of late (hence the very delayed gratitude), but it has been treating me kindly. 💐
  • Thank you u/SshellsBbells for your awesome jellyfish postcard from the RAoC meetup! It was so great! Although I didn't get as many cards as I wanted done, I got my goal cards done and a bunch of other requests to fulfill! It was also great to put faces to usernames! I really hope we get to go to another one together in the future. 🪼
  • Thank you u/BubblySunflowers for your comical postcard of "The Four Undramatic Plot Structures!" I absolutely love it! I have not read The Realm of the Elderlings series; in fact, it's my first time hearing of it! I love that you shared so many five-star reads! I attended a conference this past week and got an advanced reader's copy of a new book from an author I love (Elizabeth Acevedo). Already it's a five-star read! 📚
  • Thank you u/Sable__ for your illustrative postcard of a midnight forest scene! It's wild that the ASMR cat-feeding videos showed up on your social media feed. That's what happened to me with Kickball Dad; before I knew it, I spent an hour watching short reels while doing chores! I have to say, there is something soothing about watching cats get fed or groomed at the salon (you'll love Girl With The Dogs). 🐈
  • Thank you u/emeliminator for your Basset Hound postcard! So glad that I got to contribute a song to your RAoC playlist! It's nice to be curious about the sub's music tastes. From the peek into the playlist, there's an eclectic mix of songs! 🎶
  • Thank you u/Howdoireadplshelp for your postcard of Ala Moana Beach, O'ahu! The RAoC Meetup / card power hour was so cool! So happy that you found this community of like-minded folks. I definitely get trying to immerse yourself into activities and friend hangouts to avoid some of the responsibilities of adulting. Know that you're not alone in this; be sure to prioritize rest, too. (Easier said than done, of course, but I'm working on this, too.) 🌴

That's all for now!

[THANK YOU] June Happy Mail ~ Part 2

Hello everyone! Oh my GOODNESS it has been a hot minute since I've done a thank you post for the June cards I've received. Between work, work travel, and other life shenanigans, I have not been on top of my A-game, but hopefully on this break of a day, I can tackle my thanks before July starts. Will I get them all done? Maybe not... but, it's a start! In no particular order, here we go!

  • Thank you u/CheeseWheelQueen for your snail mail full of goodies! From stickers and paper scraps to washi and the Hello Kitty tarot, I absolutely loved it! I have a whole bunch of mail to write soon, so I can't wait to use this. Your note was so sweet, too! I love this community as well! Hope you are doing well, and thanks for thinking of me! 💌
  • Thank you u/katier127 for your postcard celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66! It's so cool that you like learning about the history of this route and sharing knowledge, including its monuments like the Pennant Hotel. Where I traveled, I actually saw a Historic Route 66 marker and had to take a picture! Happy Summer to you! 🏨
  • Thank you u/CookieCriminal for your postcard celebrating the New York Knicks' NBA Finals win! What a historic occasion! I was so happy and inspired seeing the team's performance, dominating in the playoffs and coming back against the Spurs not just once, but twice to take it all! I appreciate the birthday stamps, too! 🏀
  • Thank you u/soxgal for your floral greeting card and extra stickers! I admire your goal of spreading joy to 500 different people via snail mail, and sharing some of your stationary love with us! These stickers will definitely come in handy when I am working on my own stash of snail mail. I hope you are able to reach your goal this year! 📨
  • Thank you u/msoma97 for your America 250 postcard! I appreciate how you decorated the red envelope with patriotic stickers, stamps, and washi. I also loved reading your message. Honestly, I haven't felt patriotic in *insert timeframe here*, but your note inspired me and reminded me that this country's story is still being written. 🎆
  • Thank you u/HappyHippyMom for your summer floral greeting card! I am seriously in awe of the card-making craft-ship and overall decoration. You are the second person to tell me recently about a meditation retreat and how lovely it was. Maybe it's something I should look into one day... 🧘🏻
  • Thank you u/andyismean for your random postcard from Mexico, as well as the extra stickers! It did find me well! I appreciate you sharing about your favorite places in Mexico. While I have not been to the country before, I have had friends who have gone and enjoyed it. One of my close friends even got me a bracelet from the Museo Nacional de Antropología. I would love to see Mexico City. 🌼
  • Thank you u/TheCuriousCur for the Blockbuster postcard of Breakfast at Tiffany's! This movie, and Sabrina, made me into an Audrey Hepburn girl. I actually had decor growing up featuring stills from this movie, and I have the iconic movie poster in my room still. I will have to visit the diner in St. Louis whenever I go! 🎬
  • Thank you u/PinkPengin for your postcard of Tahiti! This is such a beautiful flower! I bet you had a fantastic vacation if it was hard to come home! I appreciate you sharing some of that joy with me! I hope to travel to Tahiti one day and experience some of the lush greenery and water myself. 🌺

[THANK YOU] June Happy Mail ~ Part 1

Hello everyone! Happy June, and Happy Pride Month to those who celebrate! I'm finally starting to get through my pile of mail I received so far this month, which means another series of thank-you posts! 🙂

  • Thank you u/shouldbeteaching for your reading exchange postcard! I love the illustration on the card, and I enjoyed reading your note! I hope to go on a girl's reading vacation soon enough! I hope you enjoy Go Gentle! I look forward to you receiving my card soon! 📖
  • Thank you u/TyeDyeAmish for your cat postcard! What a good deed to feed the neighbors' cats! I'm sure they have warmed up to you, even as they detect that you're more of a dog person. I get to cat-sit for my coworker's cats soon; I can't wait! 🐈
  • Thank you u/Pvstate for your postcard of a cat eating donuts in space! I appreciate your feather oracle reading. It has given me a lot to reflect on, especially as of late. Also, your handwriting is so nice! 🪶
  • Thank you u/sourcircus for your postcard! I love the artwork featuring the book and strawberries, and I love the extra sitckers and washi tape you included! The workshop you went to sounds so awesome! I would love to attend one someday. Thank you for sharing part of your day with me. 💌
  • Thank you u/Morticia_Devine for your floral themed card that you found from your most recent thrift! So cool that you have a garden filled with so many yummy vegetables! I do not have a garden this year, but I do have plants that I tend to and aspirations to grow some herbs soon. My boyfriend wants to start a garden once we get more settled (and once it gets out of triple-degree heat). Have a fun summer, too! 🧑🏻‍🌾
  • Thank you u/bisexualsuffering for your cute cat greeting card and your tarot card reading! TI appreciate that you sent the card along with the meaning! It's something I need to practice, for sure. ⚔️
  • Thank you u/wiifitboard for your postcard of a scantron with Legos! I also do not miss taking exams, especially scantron exams! (I was more of a blue book person myself...) Good on you for having no classes this summer, too. I hope you enjoy your summer and succeed in your pursuit of fine arts! 📝
  • Thank you u/Sneakerlambs for your postcard featuring H.G. Wells' Selected Short Stories! It's perfect to add to my collection of book-themed postcards! I also love the tiny stickers you included, and the stamp math! I haven't seen or heard of The Cult of NatureBoy, but what a wild trajectory in your day. Yesterday, I watched Disclosure Day (which is not the same, but a good movie to recommend nonetheless). I hope you have a good day, too! 🎞️
  • Thank you u/brittney827 for your postcard of Norway! I have not finished reading East of Eden yet, but I didn't realize they were making a show about it! I'm going to have to keep it on my radar; I like Florence Pugh! I hope you're able to finish the book before the show premieres in the fall. 📕

That's all for now!
