Quick Question before my Uni starts

Hi guys, I’m currently in Japan and my university starts on the 18th. Had a quick question.

How do you realistically manage:
- university
- gym
- diet
- learning skills
- and trying to build something for your future

without burning out?

I’m 19 and honestly trying to figure out how people balance all of this properly without falling behind mentally or physically. Would appreciate any real advice from people who’ve gone through it.

Also how does your daily life look like?

Hey everyone,

I'm about to start my first semester in Computer Science and I'm honestly a bit worried about how my daily life is going to look.

I keep hearing mixed things — some people say it's manageable, others say you're constantly buried in assignments, studying, and prep.

What does a typical day look like for you? After classes, do you still have time to go to the gym, work on personal projects, or just relax? Or is it mostly just studying, assignments, and more studying?

Also, how intense is the workload in the first semester specifically?

Would really appreciate some honest experiences - just trying to set realistic expectations.

Hey everyone,

I’m an incoming student at Temple University Japan (Kyoto campus) for Summer 2026, and I had a quick question about housing.

I’ll be moving into my assigned dorm on May 18, and from what I understand, the first week is mostly orientation/adjustment (not full academic classes yet).

I wanted to ask:

👉 Is it allowed for a friend to stay with me in the dorm (even just for a few days) during that first week?

Or are TUJ housing rules strict about:

- overnight guests

- non-students staying in rooms

I don’t want to accidentally break any rules right at the start.

If anyone has stayed in TUJ housing or knows the policy, I’d really appreciate your insight.

Thanks!
