Test trip

Test trip

Okay so I just took my setup on a quick 1 mile trip to see how it would be for this weekend. My back feels super heavy and feels like the backs lower than the front. I have 35 lb in the rear and I still need to add water. And my front roll. I have all my clothes and extra shoes. In the open space above the water bottle I will be putting my bicycle repair kit. I can't get front fork bags because these forks don't have the little bolts for them. Anybody got any recommendations on how I should re -pack this? Or if anybody knows a front fork bags that would actually fit on this bike or if I should get a frame bag. I've bike pack before, we did. A. Week-long 300 mile trip. Well now this time I'm going on a 30-day roughly $1,500 mile trip and deep wilderness so I'm trying to make sure I'm packed but I feel like I can't over pack but I have. I would really appreciate some help here guys.

First of the year!

So I have a bikepacking trip planned for this Saturday. I have five people coming with me. This will be my first time hosting a bikepacking event. We are going to leave Melvindale and ride to Commerce township Proud Lake campground. We're going to be spending the night there on Saturday and Sunday and leaving Monday to come home. This is around 100 mile round trip. I'm verry excited I've had this trip and campsites planned and booked since February.

Well as of today it looks like it's going to rain for the best portion of the morning on Saturday. I have already informed everybody to meet at my house at 7:00 and roll out at 8:00. But with the weather being rough and most of these first-time bike packers, what does everybody recommend. I still think I should proceed with the trip as planned and if it's raining, just wear our rain gear. I am curious to hear everyone else's opinion.

Okay so to start off I don't drive not for any reason other than not liking to drive.

So I got a question and I've only been able to find one answer to and I'm honestly not even sure if it's legit. So I have a few bikes and lately I have been putting some major money into one of them. Just fixing them up. Buying new parts and getting the bike exactly how I want. So as I said I've put some money into these bikes with new parts, not home upgrades and I'm wondering is it a thing for bicycle insurance in Michigan? The only company I seem to find that offers bicycle insurance is Velosuranace. And I've never heard of them before. So I'm just wondering if it's legit or if people have bicycle insurance with another company. I've just been nervous that if my bicycle gets hit or stolen that I won't be able to recoup on anything. So if anybody has any ideas or an input it would tremendously be appreciated.

So I'm going on a bikepacking trip soon and I'm wondering if I can mail out packages to various cities that I'll be stopping at along the way and be able to pick them up at the post office or however works. I don't even know if it's possible. It's something that I thought about and I assume it's possible but I can't find anything about doing it anywhere. So depending on how things go I may have to go down to the post office and ask them. With all this being said, I'm just wondering everybody's opinion if they've ever done it before or if it would even be worth doing. Thank you
