Let me start by saying, I’ve had PCOS for many years. Longer than I remember but I’ve always been overweight as well & my periods basically non existent.
Well…
I recently started dieting at the end of march & have lost around 60lbs which is amazing for myself but the biggest problem I now have is my period won’t stop! I have had maybe a full week of no period since April 1st. I’ll have my menstrual and then stop for about a day and then immediately start all over again. & it’s not just light spotting. It’s a full blown menstrual cycle with days of clots and heavy bleeding. I’ve seen so many drs including my primary bc my OB didn’t have any openings until next week so it’s basically been 2-3 months of hearing “it’s bc of your dieting changes and it will correct itself soon”. But soon has passed, my mental health is now struggling severely. ATP, I’m scared that even birth control won’t be able to regulate this. & I really don’t want to give up my diet, I’ve been able to do this all on my own without medication & if I have to stop I may just have a mental breakdown.
I guess my question is, has this happened to anyone else? Does it ever go back to normal? Any insight will help my anxiety until my apt on Wednesday Ty!
