[Closed Testing] Need Android testers for Modesmith Launcher

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for Android testers for Modesmith Launcher, a minimal Android launcher focused on mode-based app favorites.

Modesmith Launcher lets you keep your home screen simple while changing your favorite apps based on context. For example, you can have different Now apps for Work, Study, Home, Sports, or custom schedules, while Always apps stay available across modes.

Key features:

- Mode-based Now apps

- Always apps across all modes

- Time-based schedules for favorites

- A-Z rail for quick app access

- App search

- Per-mode wallpapers and appearance

- Smart bottom pill for media, timer, calendar, and charging status

- Optional notification badges, contact search, and screen lock gesture

To join the closed test:

  1. Join the Google Group:

https://groups.google.com/g/modesmith-closed-testing

  1. Then install/test the app from Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modesmith.launcher

I need testers who can keep the app installed and remain opted in during the closed testing period. You can test it as your default launcher if you’re comfortable, or just explore the setup, settings, app drawer, modes, schedules, and UI.

Please share any bugs, crashes, performance issues, confusing flows, or UX feedback.

Permissions note:

Notification access is optional and used for media controls, timer pill, and notification badges. Accessibility is optional and used only for the screen lock gesture. Contacts/calendar permissions are optional for contact search and calendar pill features.

Thanks for helping test Modesmith Launcher.

Curato: A task manager that actually feels good to use

Just shipped Curato - a task app I've been building because I genuinely couldn't find one I actually found productive.

Instead of sterile design, it feels more like a physical desk with colorful sticky notes. No login, no data collection - it's just yours.

If you want something that feels different, give it a download. Feedback appreciated!

Currently only on Android. Here is the Playstore link:

Would like to have Time Based App Favourites

Hey Team,

I'm loving the Niagra Launcher so far. I have a feature request. I was thinking of a time based favourites setup where, say I use some work apps like Microsoft Teams and Outlook everyday from 9 am to 5 pm. If these 2 apps alone, shows up in the favourites only during these times everyday, it would be very helpful. This is just something I was randomly thinking of, and wanted to share. Cheers.
