PSA/Fix: Apple TV app on Sony TV – “Content Not Found” for adult shows/movies but kids content works
Posting this in case it saves someone else some time.
I was having a strange issue with the Apple TV app on my Sony BRAVIA (Android TV/Android 12). Kids’ programmes would play normally, but anything aimed at an older audience would give me:
**“Content Not Found — There is a problem with loading this title or it is no longer available to play.”**
The same Apple account and the exact same content played perfectly on my phone, so it wasn’t an account/subscription or availability issue.
**The fix:**
Go to **Apple TV app → Settings → Restrictions** and check the individual content ratings.
In my case:
**TV Shows:** All
**Movies:** U
I changed **Movies from U to All**, and immediately **both movies AND TV shows started working**.
So it seems that, at least on my Sony Android TV, having the Movies restriction set to U was also preventing older-rated TV shows from playing, despite TV Shows already being set to All.
The really confusing part is that Apple TV didn’t say the content was restricted — it just displayed **“Content Not Found,”** making it look like a network/app/availability problem.
Hopefully this helps anyone searching for the same error before they start resetting/reinstalling everything.
