court mandated therapy

Hi everyone! I'm a licensed counselor, and most of my career experience is in institutional care. I am curious about the process of getting trained/certified as a court-mandated therapist. I know theres so many routes that therapists can take (i.e. DV work, sex offense treatment, parenting reunification, substance use, anger management). I would love to meet other professionals who do this type of work. I'm interested in learning about the different trainings and certifications. I am in NJ, that helps :)

new hire-- unsure of how the career ladder/locality works

Hi everyone, new BOP hire here! I just accepted a Drug Treatment Specialist role. HR told me it’s a GS 9-11 slot and that I'll jump to an 11 after one year. I’m incredibly excited but a little nervous since I don’t see that 1 year jump in writing anywhere yet. Has anyone else gone through this?

On the financial side, my salary is stated as $75,162 base. Will my area's locality pay be added to that, or is it already rolled in? Balancing the cost of living with pension, taxes, and health insurance has me stressing a bit, so I’m really praying that GS-11 bump is guaranteed. Appreciate any advice on how this works!
