- I'm aware that the image may confuse some people, but Cassandra should also be around the same age as Tim at this point (around 17 or so), there's just no images of pre-orphan/batgirl Cass online.

Cold. Scared. Lifeless.
The man that she had killed was dead.
To many, this would be the most obvious thing in the world.
People die when they are killed, after all.
But the moment she struck the blow and read the body, she knew exactly what she had done.
And she was horrified.
It was supposed to be just a game.
It wasn't supposed to end like this.
So she ran.
...
She ran as far away from her parents as she could.
She didn't know where she was going.
She didn't care.
She felt disgusting.
She felt unforgivable.
She felt hopeless.
She ended up in the city.
...
It was dark. Cold.
Just like the man she had killed.
She couldn't speak.
She couldn't read.
She couldn't write.
Her parents had never taught her that.
All she knew was murder.
And death.
...
The next eight years blurred together.
How old was she now? 17? 19? She didn't know. Or care to know.
She felt aimless.
She had found herself wondering if she should just die.
After all, she was still just a worthless mute.
Simply passing the time.
Waiting for death.
...
Would somebody, anybody, tell her?
What was her purpose?
