Need help with 9 week puppy
Hi everyone we brought our sweet girl Lola home a few days ago. She is 9 weeks old currently and is having a hard time adjusting. My wife and I are first time Frenchie parents and are very concerned. Any advice this group has on any of these would be much appreciated.
Transition- She has had a difficult time since coming home on Sunday. She doesn’t eat or drink much. Everything we’ve heard is that at her current weight of 6.6 lbs she should be eating about a cup a day of food. She is served half a cup at breakfast and dinner and eats maybe half of those. Our breeder was including a teaspoon of Greek yogurt with her kibble to help with bones, teeth, probiotics, etc. She barely touched dinner last night so we tried including some pure pumpkin purer and sweet potato puree to help encourage her to eat. She had about half again and nothing more. This morning she would not touch anything we prepared we tried the same from dinner last night, the kibble with Greek yogurt, and we even tried blending the kibbles so that she could have a softer food. Whether this was right or wrong we’re not sure we were just desperate to get her to eat something after not eating much the previous meals. It’s the same story with water as well, she started out needing some encouragement to drink, and now has drank very little if anything today. She’s also started spitting up clear liquid multiple times today, we’ve got no idea what this could be and are so concerned for our baby. We’ve taken her to the vet and according to them mostly everything checks out, she hasn’t gained or lost any weight, teeth are fine, and tested negative for parovirus, worms, and parasites.
Has anyone had something similar happen or could point us to what to do? We’re so scared for her, we just want everything to be alright.
