A/C out in office - Venting

So lightning hit my workplace and we are hobbling along with partial A/C. Which of course is one of the things that makes me go into a “flare”. It’s currently 74-76 throughout the building but I am still hit with the fatigue.

My boss joked that I looked tired and said it was because I just got back from vacation. But nope-it’s my SAI rearing its ugly head. It’s just frustrating because I don’t want to make waves and due to my work I can’t work from home the next few days without creating a lot of work barriers for myself.

Mind you if I hit a crisis I would go home in a heart beat. And if we got over 80 I’d take my laptop to a Starbucks and suffer the extra barriers. It’s just frustrating how easily I’m set off with heat.

(I’m currently in the “Ring of Fire” with feels like 110-115 outside too)

Anyone with Endometriosis and Adrenal Insufficiency?

I have Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency and am still getting used to stress dosing. Today I felt a familiar stab pain in my ovary area no where near my period. I have endometriosis and have had cysts rupture multiple times and this is normally the start.

It normally takes me out for a few days with Tylenol and heating pads. If that is what is occurring (not ruptured yet!) would yall just treat it like a sick day?

Any suggestions would be appreciated because doc takes 3 business days to answer on portal.

Long drives-when does everyone stress dose?

Diagnosed this past year with SAI. I used to be fine driving 12 hours in a day when I was a kid but I’ve noticed that 3 hours in a single day and I’m having a lethargic day the next. What is everyone’s limit on driving?

After 6 years of being sick for no discernible reason with a multitude of doctors, I was able to self advocate myself onto steroids-and shocker-they worked. I have a very small cyst on my pituitary stalk. It’s causing SAI and Hypothyroidism. That doctor referred me to a specialist at Vanderbilt.

Now the specialist has yet to truly explain to me when I’m supposed to stress dose. So I of course didn’t stress dose when I got the stomach flu because I didn’t vomit or have a fever. I had everything else so of course it didn’t end well for me and I was under the weather for weeks vs the few days.

Yesterday I went back with great news-all my symptoms are gone with the exception of on my period. I asked if I should stress dose then and he shot it down. I have endometriosis and addenomyosis for the record. I asked more questions on stress dosing and timing. He answered but no written rules or anything. Nothing about mental stress. And he said based on my symptoms we would not be tapering soon. (I had to Google why we would even be tapering !)

I did a STIM test and I had a good cortisol result but my ACTH remained low normal. He messaged me on the portal to tell me that I would need to begin tapering immediately. I have absolutely no idea how to do that!!!!! So I sent him a message stating I had no idea what I’m doing and don’t feel comfortable about it and he needs to do an appointment or a telehealth before I am okay going down-and reminded him that I’m STILL symptomatic!

So he set up a telehealth on the day I told him I’d be traveling for work and said I had to be within state lines. And there’s not another appointment available until August.

I feel so angry and yet this is the only doctor to actually help.
