So his self-worth was low in their marriage and Shi Shi, with her high-power CEO role, lacked the insight to understand his reticence. And communication? Didn’t happen, really.
So now, when he took on the mantle of authority, this imbalance doesn’t exist anymore. And it’s interesting that the FL is not interested at all in getting back what she had. They meet on even footing — she’s still a power player on the inside and he’s one, too.

Freed from this family infighting, she can finally exhale — and learn the basics, starting with opening up to him.

Both had more in common than they knew — a dysfunctional family and thick protective walls to hide their vulnerabilities.

His broke down with her death — and his soft persistent pursuit of her as a pretty but down-on-her-luck actress allowed her to lower hers.

She slowly sees his efforts, allows him closer, and for the first time, they actually talk instead of silently assuming the worst of each other.

… her super infantilized girl spiel was not my vibe as is the mutism plot. But mileage varies.

Both are actors who bring the drama, fierceness and fire that guarantees a drama that whatever their starting point is, they bring their romance, the mutual attraction to life and crown it with explosive kisses.

So why on earth do they lead us on?

This drama, it’s about gorgeous Meng Na discovering her husband is cheating and immediately preparing for a divorce.

• She’s not sitting drunk in a bar and hooking up with a stranger who’s a billionaire who spoils her

• She’s not starting an affair with her husband‘s best friend

• She’s not hooking up with his powerful uncle who waited for this since forever

Nope. I wish.

• She gets a great divorce lawyer

• She gets a full time job behind his back which would be hard to pull off, but I book it under win as it’s at least typical for dramaland.

• She collects evidence

and she acts like nothing has happened for months.
Not unusual.

But was Chen Si the male lead?

Chen Si? He’s a Wall Street-returned finance elite who becomes CEO of investment bank Ruji.
They had been good friends in college and Meng Na was his missed chance. He hears divorce - and then simps for the rest of the drama.

No, focus of this story was her husband who fell for his manipulative green tea b. white moonlight. GTB had planned it all out, including infiltrating the family as a tutor to destroy this marriage and steal her past love, now a financially well established man. She gets more screen time than anyone besides Meng Na - it’s two women trying to rebuild after divorce. Methods vary.

The actual heart of the drama is the husband’s emotional triangle.
We spend most of the runtime understanding his conflict, his guilt, his attachment to the white moonlight.

He’s a kind fool. In the end, both women get what they want from him.

Meng Na gets the son, the house and her share.

The white moonlight destroys the marriage, secures a prestigious job at the investment bank and slides neatly into future-wife position.

After the divorce it’s a workplace intrigue - with Chen Si as the top dog and Meng Na in power mode - of course GTB got her just desserts.

The husband paid the bill, emotional and financial.

You end up feeling with him, because he realizes what he lost, understood the how and said - quoted from memory: „as a middle aged man when a woman approaches you, it’s about your financial status. Not love“ .

It’s a well told story.

But it’s fraudulent advertisement and I want to speak to the Manager.

I want Chen Si & Meng Na.
Witty dialogue.
Passion.
Kisses.

Zhang Hongming 张洪鸣 (Zhāng Hóngmíng) is a Beijing Film Academy-trained actor from Jiaozuo, Henan *(*河南焦作 — Hénán Jiāozuò), born on September 25, 2000.

Before moving into vertical dramas as a lead, he first appeared in more traditional productions including 《长相思》 (Cháng Xiāngsī — Lost You Forever) and 《长风渡》 (Cháng Fēng Dù — Destined). But instead of staying buried in supporting roles, he moved aggressively into short dramas, where he could actually build himself as a male lead.

And honestly? It was a smart move.

One of my absolute favorite dramas of 2025 — and definitely my favorite pairing from these two actors.

They start on the worst possible footing.

Through manipulations and misunderstandings outside their control, both become convinced they never truly had and have a chance with the other. By the time they meet again in a fake marriage setup, years of longing, insecurity, attraction, and emotional restraint are already simmering underneath the surface.

And then love, alcohol and lowered inhibition enter the chat. 🥂

➡️ Fake marriage, mutual yearning, emotional repression, jealousy, and two people orbiting each other because they simply cannot stay away.

Also:

Wang Haozhen looking devastatingly handsome for 90 episodes straight probably deserves its own production credit.

And the interesting thing is that the two biggest real-life vertical couples have completely different energy.

 The good thing about older dramas: MdL & jwells. 

One of my favorite reborn revenge stories.

Or at least I think she’s reborn because frankly her original ordeal did not look survivable.

Her sister stole everything: her company, her child,
her future.

So now she wants it all back.

Including sister’s husband.

And honestly? Zeng Hui as the cold casino husband works absurdly well. He feels dangerous in that very vertical-drama way where a man says three words and half the audience is already rearranging their life choices.

The tension is relentless. She openly seduces him almost every time they meet and because they’re a real-life couple, the intimate scenes never feel hesitant or staged.

➡️Revenge executed without mercy, unburdened by moral restraints. An irresistible HYT who doesn’t hesitate to break ZH heart while using him.

Two poor CEOs — 2024  
aka The Flash Marriage CEO Is Poor

Pure chaos.

Both are secretly rich CEOs.
She needs a child for inheritance reasons - baby bingo for the shares in competition to her step sisters. 
He needs a mum for his son and wants somebody to love him without knowing he’s wealthy.  Flash marriage — and from then on Han Yutong spends most of the drama aggressively pursuing him while Zeng Hui attempts to resist with the last surviving fragments of his self-control. 😂

When she’s making her moves, you can visibly watch the man malfunction.

➡️Don’t overthink the logic. Just enjoy the flirting, the banter, and the escalating disaster energy.

Zhu Yiwei 朱一未 (Zhū Yīwèi) & Bai Xinyi 白昕怡 (Bái Xīnyí)

Fandom name: 爆珠CP (Bàozhū CP)
爆珠 literally refers to: popping pearls, burst beads, flavor capsules (like in drinks/candy/cigarettes).
The name has a playful “explosive sweetness” feeling — basically: “bursting chemistry.”

Where Zeng Hui dominates through coldness, Zhu Yiwei excels at emotional manipulation. Puppy eyes, seductively deep voice and a take no prisoners attitude. 

He is one of the best 绿茶弟弟 Lǜchá Dìdi — green-tea younger guys who look emotionally harmless while orchestrating the entire relationship from the shadows.

And Zhu Yiwei does it perfectly.

The chemistry between him and Bai Xinyi in their first dramas was so tangible that fans were convinced  they were dating long before the relationship started. Their marriage last year was celebrated. 

Their dramas tend to lean more chaotic and intimate  than the explosive Zeng Hui/Han Yutong dynamic. Less “power struggle in a penthouse,” more soft manipulation,  clinginess, and “I will follow you everywhere” energy.

Which honestly makes them dangerously addictive to watch.

Your Love (2025) | 狗一样可爱的老板 aka You Are My Love 

On this sub nicknamed „The Bathtub Diver drama“ — watch, you may learn why. 

John Wick meets Fifty Shades of Grey. 
His family killed her dog - revenge! .
A chance presents itself when she hears that they are cursed. When they are called “dog” to their face, they turn into a dog during the day and have only 30 days left to lift it - the how is a big ? - or stay a dog permanently.

Great plan! Too bad that this curse binds her to him - he wears a magic collar now and its leash ends with her. yep, that’s the “50 Shades Of Grey” part.
