My Review Of Jeremy Griffiths Book ‘The Interview That Solves The Human Condition And Saves The World!'

My Review Of Jeremy Griffiths Book ‘The Interview That Solves The Human Condition And Saves The World!'

In this Jeremy Griffith review, I share my reaction to 'THE Interview That Solves The Human Condition And Saves The World!' and explain why I have returned to this remarkable little booklet many times.

At first, I found the book challenging. Its claims were confronting, and its ideas challenged much of what I previously believed about the world, myself and humanity. But after patiently rereading the booklet and rewatching 'THE Interview', I cannot express my appreciation enough for the understanding it presents.

At only 54 pages, 'THE Interview' provides a concise introduction to the essential ideas in Griffith's much larger book, 'FREEDOM: The End Of The Human Condition'. The interview format between Jeremy Griffith and Craig Conway makes an enormous subject much easier to follow.

The sections that particularly stood out to me were Griffith's rejection of the conventional 'savage instincts' explanation for human behaviour and his argument that our original instincts were cooperative, loving and selfless. He also presents what he describes as the psychological rehabilitation of the human race, offering a framework for how humanity could recover through understanding the psychological cause of our destructive behaviour.

I found this explanation both compassionate and incredibly exciting. If you're looking for a book that challenges conventional thinking and attempts to reach the root of what is going wrong in the world, I believe 'THE Interview' is an excellent place to begin.

My Review of Jeremy Griffith’s Book ‘The Human Condition’

In this short review of Jeremy Griffith's 'The Human Condition', I explain why I found this concise book so astonishing and insightful.

If the human condition isn't clear to you before reading Griffith's 2025 introductory book, it certainly will be afterwards.

In roughly 180 pages, Australian biologist Jeremy Griffith sets out his explanation of the human condition, examining how the biological conflict between our instincts and our developing conscious intellect produced it.

What particularly impressed me was that Griffith doesn't simply describe the human condition. He presents a logical, step-by-step explanation of its origins and explains how it can ultimately be resolved.

If you've wondered why humans can behave so destructively, or felt that conventional psychology and philosophy never quite reached the root of the problem, I believe this book offers a powerful framework to consider. It's also an accessible starting point for anyone curious about Jeremy Griffith's larger body of work.

Our Cooperative Ape Ancestry: Lessons from Bonobos

The bonobos. Oh the bonobos..The love monkeys.. I just absolutely love learning about them and immersing myself in their world now having eroded my denial about our all loving ape ancestry. I’ll be honest , when I first started reading FREEDOM I was having nothing to do with all the bonobo talk, i just dismissed it, skipping over it. It was too much. Of course our all loving ape-ancestry was yet another obvious truth we couldn't look at or admit until we could explain and defend our human condition.Thankfully the human condition has been explained and we can open ourselves up to and connect with these most important of Truths - which completely dismantle that false idea we are innately savage , brutal and selfish. Most importantly though is that we support this knowledge so we can as Ashley Monatgu pleaded 'get man back upon the road of his evolutionary destiny from which he has gone so far astray - the road which leads to health and happiness for all humanity, peace and goodwill unto all the earth' !

The Greatest Knowledge I’ve Ever Encountered.

Today is my Freedom anniversary- the day I discovered what I believe is the greatest knowledge of all time.

It took me around four years of wrestling with this understanding. I resisted it, denied it, and struggled to make sense of it. Now I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and privilege to be alive at a time when this knowledge is available.

People often say, “Knowledge is power.” For me, this is the ultimate knowledge. Like professor Harry Prosen said “I have no doubt this biological explanation of the human condition is the holy grail of insight we have sought for the psychological rehabilitation of the human race”. This knowledge works. Does what it says it does. It has brought an immense amount of Freedom to my mind and changed my life in the most genuine positive way imaginable, I can’t encourage people enough to learn this knowledge.

One word of caution, though: the “deaf effect.” Don’t be discouraged if you can’t fully take in or make sense of the understanding at first. Mine was a beast. I’m incredibly grateful that I kept reading, re-reading, listening, and persisting until it finally clicked.

I’m also reminded today of what Prof. Karen Riley, clinical pharmacist said about this knowledge:

‘Living without this understanding is like living back in the stone age, that’s how massive the change it brings is!’

Science reveals humans fundamental goodness

I love this opening paragraph from chapter 3 of FREEDOM explaining humans fundamental goodness and why we became psychologically upset. It’s so relieving and exciting that we finally have the full compassionate truth about ourselves, the redeeming, reconciling and rehabilitating understanding of the human condition !!! Let’s goooo!!

Chapter 3:6 Adam and Eve — we humans — are heroes NOT villains
273
We can now see that Moses’ Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden accurately describes the primary situation involved in our human condition of the psychologically upsetting battle that emerged between our instincts and our conscious intellect’s search for knowledge. It says Adam and Eve/we took the ‘fruit’ (Genesis 3:3) ‘from the tree of…knowledge’ (Gen. 2:9, 17) and were ‘disobedient’ (the term widely used in descriptions of Gen. 3). In other words, we developed a conscious mind and free will. But in that pre-scientific story it says Adam and Eve then became perpetrators of ‘sin’ (Gen. 4:7) and as a result were ‘banished…from the Garden of Eden’ (Gen. 3:23) of our species’ particular cooperative and loving, innocent, Edenic instinctive state for having become ‘evil’ (Gen. 3:22), whereas this scientific presentation reveals Adam and Eve to be the HEROES, NOT THE VILLAINS they have so long been portrayed as. So while humans ARE immensely upset—that is, immensely angry, egocentric and alienated—WE ARE GOOD AND NOT BAD AFTER ALL!!!! Yes, this explanation finally allows us to see that our conscious mind that caused us to take the ‘fruit’ ‘from the tree of…knowledge’ is NOT the sinful, evil villain it has so long been portrayed as. And ‘upset’ is the right word for our condition because while we are not ‘evil’ or ‘bad’ we are definitely psychologically upset from having to participate in humanity’s heroic search for knowledge. ‘Corrupted’ and ‘fallen’ have sometimes been used to describe our condition, but they have negative connotations that we can now appreciate are undeserved.
