WBuilds is now on the Web! 🌐 🧑🏻‍💻

It's finally here after months of work. So many of you asked for a way to use WBuilds on a bigger screen, and today we're launching the web version of WBuilds. It's built specifically for everyone who wanted to experience WBuilds on their PC, laptop, or MacBook. No downloads, no installs, just open it in your browser and start building.

Link - https://wbuilds.app/home

A quick note for mobile users: if you're on a phone or a foldable, iPhone or Android, please stick with the mobile apps. That's still where you get the most optimized WBuilds experience by far. The web version is made for desktop.

About Pro Pass: the web version is a completely separate platform, so a Pro Pass from the Android or iOS app won't work on the web right now. I'm really sorry about this one. Connecting the two is a big piece of work and there's still a lot to figure out, so we can't take it on just yet and we might add it later in the future but not confirmed yet

This is an early version. We're working hard to bring more and more features over. Search isn't there yet, but it's coming within the next week. We're prioritizing based on what you tell us, so the best way to support us right now is to try it out and give us your honest feedback.

Early Web User badge 🏅: the first 100 users who subscribe on the web platform will get an exclusive Early Web User badge here on Discord. If you're one of the first 100, reach out to me directly and I'll get you the badge.

Thank you for supporting us all this way. Go try it and tell me what you think 💚

Idea: a "Learn to Build" path in WBuilds. Would you use it?

A lot of you download the app to actually learn how to build, not just browse. Right now you open it and get a big catalog, which is great if you know what you want, but a bit overwhelming if you're new.

So I'm thinking of adding a guided path, kind of like the Duolingo home screen (pic attached). Same builds we already have, no new content, just arranged as a beginner to pro journey. You'd follow it step by step:

  1. build a chair
  2. build a small house
  3. build a tower
  4. build a cow farm
  5. keep going and slowly level up into the big stuff

The idea is you pick up the fundamentals one build at a time, like symmetry, shapes, roofs, redstone and terraforming, instead of jumping straight into a mega build and giving up.

To be clear, it's not a course and it's not there to kill free building. It's just an optional path for people who prefer a bit of structure while they learn.

Two questions:

  1. Would you actually use something like this, or do you prefer just browsing?
  2. If yes, what should the first build in the path be for a total beginner?

Appreciate any honest feedback 🙏

🎨 Update: Block Outline Colors Now Actually Mean Something

Each block in a build now has one locked outline color across every step, and the block under the photo shows a dot in that same color. So when a step mixes similar blocks like spruce logs, spruce stairs and spruce trapdoors, nothing gets mixed up, just match the dot to the outline and place it. Small quality of life change but I think it'll save you a lot of squinting.

Still working on this one, so I'm sharing it early. If you'd change anything let me know, and if it looks good just say so and I'll ship it!
