What do you want from an Android EPUB viewer for downloaded or archived books?

I'm working on an Android file viewer that includes EPUB and TXT reading, and I'm trying to understand what EPUB-heavy users actually care about.

The cases I'm most interested in are local files rather than store-library reading:

- EPUBs downloaded from the web or cloud storage

- EPUBs inside archives or mixed document folders

- switching between EPUB, PDF, TXT, and Office files without changing apps

- reading on phones or tablets where the file came from a download, chat app, or file manager

For people who manage their own EPUB files on Android: what makes a viewer good or annoying?

Do you care more about typography, fast opening, table of contents, search, dark mode, folder organization, annotations, or something else?

Feedback wanted on Fileloom, a live Android file viewer for mixed files

Hi, I'm the developer of Fileloom.

Fileloom is already live on Google Play, so I'm not looking for closed-test installs. I'm looking for practical Android testing/feedback from people who can throw real folders and weird documents at it.

The app is free and ad-free. It opens PDFs, EPUBs, HWP/HWPX, Office documents, archives, Markdown/code files, images/media, TIFF, VCF, M3U playlists, and CAD/drawing files like DWG/DXF/STEP/STP.

Useful things to test:

- A file type that should open but doesn't

- Large PDFs/EPUBs/Office files that render poorly

- Archive browsing and recent-file behavior

- Which viewer feels roughest

Play Store:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.fileloom.app

If you have a live Android app, I'm happy to give real feedback back.

Looking for real-world feedback on Fileloom, a free ad-free Android viewer for mixed file types

Hi! I'm the developer of Fileloom, a free, ad-free Android file viewer for people who open mixed file types on Android: PDFs, EPUBs, HWP/HWPX, Office docs, archives, Markdown/code, images/media, local files and Google Drive.

You can test it here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.fileloom.app

The newest update added or improved HWP/PDF/Markdown/Office rendering and search, DWG/DXF/STEP/STP support, TIFF/TIF, VCF, M3U/M3U8, EPUB to TXT export, ZIP internal search, in-viewer delete, password-protected PDFs, recent files/tabs/reset settings, GIF sizing, Excel zoom/search, TTS and UI fixes.

I'm looking for feedback on:

  1. Does the first-run/file-picker flow make sense?

  2. Which file type still makes you switch to another viewer?

  3. Any crashes or bad rendering with unusual files?

  4. Is the Play Store listing/onboarding clear enough about what Fileloom does?

Blunt bug reports are welcome, especially with files that usually break lightweight viewers.

Can you test Fileloom with your weirdest Android files? PDF, EPUB, HWP, Office, CAD, TIFF, VCF, M3U, ZIP and more

Hi! I'm the developer of Fileloom, a free, ad-free Android file viewer.

I'm looking for testers who can try the app with real files from their own Android workflow - especially files that usually make you install another dedicated viewer.

The newest update added or improved:

- HWP/PDF/Markdown/Office rendering and search

- DWG/DXF/STEP/STP drawing-file support

- TIFF/TIF, VCF and M3U/M3U8 support

- EPUB export to TXT

- File creation and ZIP internal search

- In-viewer delete and password-protected PDF opening

- Recent files, tabs, reset settings, GIF sizing, Excel zoom/search, TTS and UI fixes

Useful tests:

- A large PDF or Office document

- HWP/HWPX files if you use Korean documents

- EPUB export to TXT

- TIFF/TIF images

- ZIP/archive search

- Password-protected PDFs

- Drawing files such as DXF/DWG/STEP/STP

Play Store:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.fileloom.app

I'd especially appreciate bug reports where Fileloom still makes you fall back to another viewer.

Fileloom Android file viewer update

Hi! I’m the developer of Fileloom, a free, ad-free Android file viewer I built because I kept needing separate apps for PDFs, EPUBs, Office docs, HWP/HWPX files, archives, Markdown/code, images, and media.

This update expands the "one viewer I can keep installed" idea:

- Better rendering and search for HWP, PDF, Markdown, and Office documents

- DWG/DXF/STEP/STP drawing-file support

- TIFF/TIF, VCF, and M3U/M3U8 support

- EPUB export to TXT

- New file creation and search inside ZIP archives

- In-viewer delete and password-protected PDF opening

- Recent files, tabs, reset settings, GIF sizing, Excel zoom/search, and TTS/UI fixes

I’d love feedback from Android users who regularly open mixed file types. Which viewer/file type still feels like it needs a separate dedicated app?
