HOA says this 60 ft Basswood is “Not an Imminent Hazard”. This crack showed up after a storm last Tuesday and is getting visibly wider each day.
So this is a 60ft basswood that’s about 15 ft away from my front door. In my amateur opinion, the thing is totally fucked. This is a brand new crack that appeared last Tuesday and goes 8’ down the 12’ section of trunk. Yes it sways independently in the wind, yes I’ve been hearing cracks and pops, no they haven’t even put so much as a “don’t park here” sign on the parking that’s directly underneath it. I’ve emailed the HOA four times in six days and “They’ve submitted a request to the board for removal”. I’m sleeping in my living room, parking down the street, and have moved all the good shit to the back of my garage, but I can’t move my house. Somebody please tell me this thing isn’t going to fall on my roof. Also it’s supposed to storm all week.
