getting into make up when i can't afford it ??

guys this is literally so upsetting. i'm 19, almost 20, and have literally never got into make up at all. But it's not because i don't want to, but because i can never bring myself to buy all of the products that everyone seems to use even just for a simple everyday look. i wear mascara and concealer (to cover the red-ness of my cheeks from spots and the darkness under my eyes). when i go clubbing i'll also wear eye-liner because i like that.

however i never started doing anything more than that. in the past i have bought a couple of things like foundation and eyeshadow, but both were quite cheap products and not the best so it didnt look great. i also only have one brush so i can't apply eyeshadow in any meaningful way.

i also have a fear that i just won't be able to do it right and go out looking like a bit of a mug, which is a big reason why i don't want to spend my money on things i may never use. it's a harsh cycle.

can anyone give me any tips on how to get around this please
