Heading to Fort Campbell (Army Aviation) in Feb 2027 and looking for some insight from current or former aviation Soldiers.

A few questions:

What's the day-to-day work schedule like in aviation units at Campbell?

How often are field exercises and how long do they usually last?

What's the deployment and rotation tempo looking like currently?

How often are aviation units supporting JRTC, NTC, or other major training events?

How is the leadership climate in your unit?

What's the work-life balance like for married Soldiers with families?

What areas off post do you recommend living in? (Clarksville, Oak Grove, Sango, Pleasant View, etc.)

Which areas should I avoid?

Average commute times from the better neighborhoods?

Any hidden costs, traffic issues, or things you wish you knew before PCS'ing there?

For aviation maintainers and crew chiefs, how busy are maintenance operations compared to other duty stations?

If you had the choice again, would you pick Campbell?
