I finally took my problem M1 Carbine to the range. The good news is that it *finally* runs great, I only had one malfunction in 90 rounds and it may have been user error with the mag. The bad news is that it fires high and to the right, about 6 inches high and 6 inches to the right when I sighted it in at 25 yards. I have the rear sight windage nearly maxed out to the left. The 6 inches high is fine, because at 100 yards it should be fairly close to center. The 6 inches to the right is a problem. The rear sight is centered perfectly in the dovetail. The front sight does not look canted or off center to me, but it may be off by 1 degree or so to the right. Is my only option to remove the front sight and rotate it more right?
