Platinumed the game and i have...thoughts

i wanted to enjoy this game so bad. I loved the artstyle, and had fun during my first 2 runs (was captured on the first, escaped on the second) but. the rest of the game was so. unbearable.

the writing is pretty sloppy and flat, the characters are pretty one dimensional & a lot of them are super unlikable. which is unfortunate because the game requires you to talk to them. also i didn't care about what they had going on highkey 😭😭

i really didn't enjoy the way that questions were shoehorned in. like you couldn't talk to a character without them going "im sure you'd like to ask me a question." i think that could have been done better + i wish we were given more questions/the option to ask a question dissappears after you already asked them on a previous run.

the politics in game are flat but i honestly don't mind that. i think it's good for people who aren't too knowledgeable about politics.

i only platinumed it to get my moneys worth and bc it was easy.

overall, i understand the appeal of the game. but it definitely wasn't for me.

2/5

does anyone else not care for lore?

i feel like the "lore" of the game is getting in the way of so many updates. Like, we could probably get more items per update/better quests for items, if there wasn't such a focus on lore.

at first when the lore began, I didn't really care for it. Ive never cared for lana - nor do i even use her nail station anymore - so i didnt gaf about her story, which was fine back then because it was avoidable.

now it isn't. its getting in the way of major updates, and becoming so rooted in the game its basically impossible to ignore.

Plus, the lore is just flat out boring and confusing now. i think the devs started it as a joke and just blew it out of proportion for the sake of youtubers making vids on it, driving people to toward their games. plus every quest is so lore driven and genuinely miserable to play through 😭😭 especially when its 90% dialogue based.

also - little bit of a nitpick - but the lore and how its presented in quests is so cringy and badly written. But thats just my opinion.
