Are pet shops tailored more towards dogs?

Not sure if it's just me but as a relatively new cat owner, I've found pet shops tend to have many aisles full of dog stuff, with the cat stuff shoved in a corner.

Is this because dogs are more popular? Am I just going to the wrong pet shops? Do I just need to make do with cardboard boxes?

Should I walk my deaf cat?

We adopted a deaf cat earlier this year, she is settling in really well but sometimes gets restless during the day while I'm working from home. I think she is bored, she has lots of toys that she does solo play with sometimes but she much prefers interactive play. I'm wondering if walking her would help with her boredom, but I live in a busy town with lots of dog walkers. Does anyone drive their cats to quieter locations for a walk? Or any experiences with entertaining deaf cats in general? She is very clever and we do a trick training session each evening (things like paw, spin etc.) so I think she would pick up lead training quickly. It's just I've never seen anyone walking a cat in the uk! Any advice welcomed
