2 years experienced civil engineer thinking of switching to Data Analytics - worth it in 2026?
I’m a civil engineer with 2 years of experience, currently earning 7.6 LPA. Recently, I’ve been feeling that growth and salary increments in civil engineering are quite slow, which is making me seriously think about switching to Data Analytics.
I know basic Python, SQL, and DSA, but I still don’t have any good projects to put on my resume. At the same time, seeing all the AI discussions online makes me wonder if I’m already late to this field.
Just wanted honest advice from people working in tech/data:
Is Data Analytics still worth getting into in 2026?
How difficult is it for someone from a non-tech background?
What skills/projects actually helped you get your first opportunity?
Would genuinely appreciate real experiences and guidance.
