GIVE THEM THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE!!!! Now THIS is a sample size ladies and gentlemen. The best players of the 2026 season....Remember if they didn't make the list it doesn't truly mean they suck.... Players ranked beyond this are certainly a bit less valuable tho.... Remember that baseball has MANY PLAYERS so being ranked lower isn't entirely that big of an issue... It's very good to be aware of these stats as we go into next year!!! Happy October!

I have given some extra EE tags to players who have been great all season... Remember if they didn't make the list it doesn't mean they suck.... I could have made this list go to 250 deep... Players ranked in the 500-800 range yeah then maybe you should worry a bit.... Remember that baseball has MANY PLAYERS so being ranked lower isn't that big of an issue... Happy September folks! Playoffs are here!!!! Good Luck!!!!

For me I think I'm buying Carson Benge... (he has been good for a while) I like what Bleday is doing too... Esmerlyn Valdez I'm iffy on still, power is legit, but not supposed to be THIS GOOD, the average is coming down... I lean sell high on Esmerlyn.

GIVE THEM THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE!!!! Remember this is now a bit larger sample size than those weekly top players. Top players for a whole month is a "bit larger" sample size.... But still not as large as season long numbers or combining with previous seasons.... Remember if they didn't make the list it doesn't mean they suck.... I could have made this list go to 250 deep... Players ranked in the 300-600 range yeah then maybe you should worry.... Happy July and Happy 250th anniversary of America folks!

Undraftables Week 9 Update

Good Morning!

So I have done this for a few years now. It is a unique challenge strategy team that challenges a manager to draft a team that has players on it with NO ADP (at the time of the draft). If they have any ADP at they were not allowed to draft them. This only applied for the one team being drafted. All other teams drafted as normal. This was for yahoo ADP metrics as the league is on yahoo. I'm going to go through each player that I currently roster and why I roster them. I did take 3rd place in 2024 with this strategy which is wild and amazing. The buy in for the league was low but not free. Here is who I drafted:

1. (2) Alek Manoah (LAA - SP)
2. (23) Tyler Mahle (SF - SP)
3. (26) Mick Abel (MIN - SP)
4. (47) Ian Seymour (TB - SP,RP)
5. (50) Joe Boyle (TB - SP,RP)
6. (71) Jacob Lopez (ATH - SP)
7. (74) Matthew Liberatore (STL - SP)
8. (95) Randy Vásquez (SD - SP)
9. (98) Grant Holmes (ATL - SP)
10. (119) Cade Cavalli (WSH - SP)
11. (122) Clayton Beeter (WSH - RP)
12. (143) Taylor Rogers (MIN - RP)
13. (146) Paul Sewald (AZ - RP)
14. (167) Jake McCarthy (COL - OF)
15. (170) Victor Robles (SEA - OF)
16. (191) Jacob Young (WSH - OF)
17. (194) Josh Lowe (LAA - OF)
18. (215) Moisés Ballesteros (CHC - C)
19. (218) Victor Caratini (MIN - C,1B)
20. (239) Nasim Nuñez (WSH - 2B,SS)
21. (242) Jordan Lawlar (AZ - 3B)
22. (263) Chase Meidroth (CWS - 2B,3B,SS)
23. (266) Tyler Freeman (COL - 2B,OF)

Basically my goal is to do what I have been doing for years with punting power and try to win SB and AVG categories the first part of season. (It does work in h2h category leagues folks) Eventually to add R as a strong category. As far as pitching goes it's mostly about having enough SP that I can win the counting stats of K and W and possibly ratios as team gets better as season goes... It's going to be a tough journey!!!!

Recent Adds:

Antonio Senzatela
Troy Johnston
Dylan Crews
Blake Snell 6 faab
Carson Benge 1 faab

Recent Drops:

Dennis Santana
Steven Kwan
Justin Crawford

Big Trades:

Miguel Vargas, Ryan Weathers, Gus Varland
for
Nolan McLean and Dennis Santana

Kyle Harrison and Connelly Early
for
Gerrit Cole

Current Team: (and why rostering them)

C Moises Ballesteros (AVG)
1B Troy Johnston (AVG)
2B Travis Bazzana (SB, R maybe?)
3B Sam Antonacci (SB, AVG) (walks tons which could mean R?)
SS Nasim Nunez (SB)
OF Jakob Marsee (SB, R) (walks a ton)
OF AJ Ewing (SB, AVG, maybe R?)
OF Carson Benge (SB, maybe AVG, maybe R cuz leadoff?)
UTL Ryan Waldschmidt (SB, AVG maybe R?) (walks a ton)
UTL Dylan Crews (SB maybe AVG was drafted for high hit tool)

IL Jordan Lawlar (SB, AVG) (maybe some HR/RBI too)

SP Zack Wheeler (My ace)
SP Nolan McLean (Another Ace)
RP Paul Sewald (Saves)
RP Antonio Senzatela (Saves)
P Gerrit Cole (Another Ace)
P Max Meyer (k and ratios?)
P Casey Mize (k and ratios?)
P Payton Tolle (high k upside, prospect pedigree)
Bench Logan Henderson (k and ratios?)
Bench Connor Prielipp (streamer/trade asset)
Bench Randy Vasquez (k and ratios? trade asset)
Bench Eduardo Rodriguez (trade asset)
Bench Jared Jones (strong stash, coming soon)

IL Justin Steele (strong stash, near elite)
IL Spencer Schwellenbach (strong stash, near elite)
IL Blake Snell (strong stash, near elite)

Some huge trades coming in. There were consolidations made to improve on getting more Aces. McLean and Cole huge names. And while Gerrit Cole is more not as "proven recently" cuz he is coming off injury I still believe in his illustrious track record. So that's what I'm banking on. Going to miss Miguel Vargas but replaced him with solid AVG of Johnston. Moved off Kwan and Crawford cuz they just were not doing enough. Kwan been very terrible in particular. Benge is batting leadoff and if that continues it should be a good asset (as long as he hits). Crews is taking a chance on that high prospect pedigree. When Snell was dropped I flipped out and knew that had to put those bids on. This team is going to have a strong strong pitching staff in September....

Here is how week 8 went! Got the 5-4 win! Just barely lost batting AVG.... SB was a victory (obviously). Then pitching took W, K, ERA and WHIP. Zack Wheeler helped lead the way last week.

This current week 9 is interesting. Can win SB and probably will. And technically can win all 5 pitching categories. Mize, Meyer, Henderson and E Rod have all been great for me this week.

TRADE UPDATE!

There is also another trade but I'm not going to mention until it fully processes. I had a trade get veto by the yahoo staff office. So we reconfigured it to hopefully not be as imbalanced.

Some adds I'm looking at:

Grant Holmes (proven last year and this year)
Corbin Burnes (another IL stash, how many can I stash? LOL. The answer is four)
Christian Scott (2 good starts in a row now, was high prospect)
Griffin Jax (been looking good)
River Ryan (on his way eventually)
Kade Anderson (should be elite when he gets the call)
Troy Melton (he had a great year last year)
Jonah Tong (if he starts getting starts could be nice)
Alex Vesia (to be my 3rd closer)
Kirby Yates (to be my 3rd closer)
Clayton Beeter (as my 3rd closer)
Cole Young (hits for high average in minors and now in majors)
Sal Frelick (very obvious proven contact hitter, but struggling this year)
TJ Friedl (similar to frelick but he has secure leadoff role locked on)
Edouard Julien (bats leadoff and hitting .308, 1b option maybe?)
Carlos Cortes (hitting for a very high batting average)
Bryson Stott (will always be on radar cuz he is a prototype contact/speed hitter)
Jung Hoo Lee (batting .301 and bat leadoff some games)
Estery Ruiz (more of a desperation if I need SB later in the weeks and he is vs lefties)
Jake McCarthy (had a super strong week last week)
Austin Martin (his SB and AVG definitely fit what trying to do here)
Colt Keith (high batting average, bats high in order, 1b eligible)

Overall the team is now in 9th place with 28-47-5. 😄 Still technically in the playoff hunt. Just need to get 6th place and do well in the playoffs... (12 games behind current 6th place team!!! CLOSE ENOUGH!)

----

I'm going to finish this one with a fun little rendition song that I tweaked....

"I like big bats and I cannot lie

You other brothers can't deny

That when a hitter walk in with an itty bitty strike zone

And a Barrel in your face, you get sprung

Wanna pull up tough cause you notice that bat looks stuffed

Deep in the zone he staring

I'm looking and I can't stop glaring

oh baby, I wanna hit with ya

And take your swing

My homeboys tried to warn me

But that bat you got makes (me-me so excited)

Oh, Swing-0-smooth-skin

You say you wanna get in my lineup?

Well, use me, use me cause I ain't your average baseball groupie

I've seen em swinging, to hell with walking'

He sweating, we, got it going like a turbo Vette

I'm tired of podcasts saying only power bats are the thing

Take the average hitter and ask him that

He gotta smash much back

So fans (yeah), fans (yeah)

Has your hitter got the bat? (hell yeah)

Tell em to swing it (swing it) swing it (swing it)

Swing that healthy bat, baby got BAT!"

-----

That's the update on the strategy! Good luck in your leagues this week folks!"

Give them the credit they deserve! Who do you have? Who do you believe in or are adding? What surprises you about this list? Who are you selling high on? Who are you buying?

Here is mine: I'm buying Zack Wheeler!!!! Ace he always has been!!! I'm selling Angel Martinez. I think I'm also buying JJ Bleday since he has had times in his past where he is this good and hitting 5th behind elly and company in cincy is good for him in that ballpark. Daylen Lile always been a solid hitter for average too so this performance doesn't shock me entirely.

12. (143) Taylor Rogers (MIN - RP)
13. (146) Paul Sewald (AZ - RP)
14. (167) Jake McCarthy (COL - OF)
15. (170) Victor Robles (SEA - OF)
16. (191) Jacob Young (WSH - OF)
17. (194) Josh Lowe (LAA - OF)
18. (215) Moisés Ballesteros (CHC - C)
19. (218) Victor Caratini (MIN - C,1B)

Current Team: (and why rostering them)

C Liam Hicks (AVG and R) (plus power, dudes a beast)
1B Miguel Vargas (R, SB) (I don't expect the sb to be high though)
2B Chase Meidroth (AVG, R a few SB) bats leadoff sometimes
3B Sam Antonacci (SB, AVG) (walks tons which could mean R?)
SS Nasim Nunez (SB)
OF Jakob Marsee (SB, R) (walks a ton)
OF Steven Kwan (SB, R, AVG) (bonified leadoff bat, however he has been bad so far)
OF Justin Crawford (SB, AVG) (still holding cuz the talent is there)
UTL Ryan Waldschmidt (SB, AVG maybe R?)
UTL Travis Bazzana (SB, R maybe?) (He gets on base extremely well so R?)

IL Jordan Lawlar (SB, AVG) (maybe some HR/RBI too)

SP Kyle Harrison (k and ratios?)
SP Chase Dollander k and ratios?)
RP Ryan Walker (Saves)
RP Paul Sewald (Saves)
P Gus Varland (Saves)
P Ryan Weathers (wins bonus, hopefully ratios)
P Connelly Early (k and ratios?)
P Payton Tolle (high k upside, prospect pedigree)
Bench Logan Henderson (k and ratios?)
Bench Max Meyer (k and ratios?)
Bench Randy Vasquez (k and ratios?)
Bench Robby Snelling (k and ratios?)
Bench Casey Mize (k and ratios?) (just got hurt tho)

IL Justin Steele (strong stash, near elite)
IL Spencer Schwellenbach (strong stash, near elite)
IL Jared Jones (strong stash)

First, it's time to discuss the moves that were made and why. Very easily added in Logan Henderson and Connelly Early. Henderson has plenty of upside and was dominating minors this year. Early should be a rotation staple going forward has dominated minors in his career. Robby Snelling is another high upside young rookie worth taking the chance on even though first start wasn't amazing. Ryan Waldschmidt added in because the overall all around skills and the hope is that he walks enough to be able to get on base and thus more get more SB. If that doesn't work out Sal Frelick or others are still available.

Here is how week 6 went! A nasty 1-8 loss. Only was able to win SB and tie wins category at 5 wins each. But the team hit for .250 and it wasn't high enough. 31runs and 27rbi were "ok" but not good enough. Losing a week that horribly can be demoralizing but it's a long season, get back on the horse and keep riding and grinding!

This current week 7 is very hopeful folks!!!! It's Saturday morning and sitting with the 6-3 lead right now!!! Tied in strikeouts, way ahead in ERA.... ahead in WHIP (albeit close)... Offensively the team has produced! Leading in Runs, SB and AVG. It is likely to definitely win SB. Not far behind at all in HR and RBI actually (even those are categories supposed to be punting!!!) This could be a big win week!!! Much needed!

TRADE UPDATE! There is a trade to mention!!! I'm buying "low" on Logan Gilbert although it's not entirely buying low as it's a pretty hefty 3 for 1. Gave up Chase Dollander, Kyle Harrison and Randy Vasquez to bring in the Ace Logan Gilbert. (He is still an Ace despite season long struggles). Harrison is not this good. I am intrigued with Dollander but it is more likely he will be low 4 ish type ERA player than being anything extremely elite, his k rate should be very high though. And Vasquez should be solid enough but not "amazing" so decided to sell on that....

More Trades!!! In talks with another trade coming soon to upgrade more pitching and trade away Liam hicks. (His RBI value doesn't do much to help in most matchups, but the batting average and runs do help) Seeking after Misorowski.... The guy did offer Bubic, but just don't feel like Bubic is enough for Hicks who ranks as 17th in the game right now.... Hicks is definitely the biggest trade asset...

Some adds I'm looking at:

Jeffrey Springs (strong season numbers and huge streamer for next week)
Grant Holmes (proven last year and this year)
Cade Cavali (remember I drafted him! lol) (2 in a row 10k games)
Connor Prielipp (Nick Pollack loves him, ranked him way high)
JR Ritchie (still like him as long as he stays in rotation)
Peter Lambert (he blanked dodgers on May 5th, 3 good starts too)
Keider Montero (season long numbers looking nice 3.18era, 0.96whip) (sell high asset?)
Christian Scott (2 good starts in a row now, was high prospect)
Ben Brown (season long numbers are bonkers 1.82era 0.91whip)
Alex Vesia (to replace Walker as 3rd closer)
Graham Ashcraft (to replace Walker as 3rd closer)
Antonio Senzatela (to replace Walker as 3rd closer)
Kirby Yates (to replace Walker as 3rd closer)
Cole Young (hits for high average in minors and now in majors)
Sal Frelick (very obvious proven contact hitter, but struggling this year)
TJ Friedl (similar to frelick but he has secure leadoff role locked on)
Edouard Julien (bats leadoff and hitting .308, 1b option maybe?)
Carlos Cortes (hitting for a very high batting average)
Bryson Stott (will always be on radar cuz he is a prototype contact/speed hitter)
Jung Hoo Lee (batting .301 and bat leadoff some games)
Kyle Teel (will monitor him, he definitely has the hit tool and is another CWS, LOL)
Estery Ruiz (more of a desperation if I need SB later in the weeks and he is vs lefties)
Colt Keith (high batting average, bats high in order, 1b eligible)
Troy Johnston (high batting average and 1b eligible)

Overall the team is now in 9th place with 20-37-3. 😄 Still technically in the playoff hunt. Just need to get 6th place and do well in the playoffs... (11 games behind current 6th place team!!! CLOSE!) It's time to make some buy low sell high trades I think!!!! The biggest trade task I think is getting a huge asset for Hicks and hopefully can cash in on Miguel Vargas too.... A strategy notation: "When there are free agent players that should be rostered you should force trades to upgrade your positions and then add in those free agents" This bolsters your team overall because any assets you "lose" in a trade you still gain back by the adds you made. This is what I'm doing with the Logan Gilbert trade. I have confidence I can replace Dollander/Harrison/Vasquez type stats and all three of them are playing over their head.

That's the update on the strategy! Good luck in your leagues this week folks!
