What process gets you the most successful AP results?

I've been trying to Astral Project for the last couple months. I've learned a lot but also feel like I'm kind of not advancing like I'd like.

I've done the Gateway tapes. I'm on Wave 3 currently but I haven't been as consistent as I was when I started and it's been a couple weeks since I have listened to them

Lately I've found myself using the Expand app by the Monroe Institute. I tend to put on Focus 10 or Focus 12 under the timer section for an extended duration and just trying to feel it out.

Usually just before or starting the audio I put an intention out there like "I deeply want to exit my body" and repeat it in my head a few times.

What process do you guys go through that works for you?

If you could please be as detailed as possible and let me know if there is anything I should be doing that CANT be skipped I'd appreciate it!

Seeing spinning geometric shapes when going to sleep and need help on what to do

I've been posting here quite a bit and I wanted to run this by you guys. My general astral projection attempts have been either around bedtime or around 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. on my days off because I heard that was also a good time to do it. The whole time I've been using the Gateway tapes (currently on wave 2) and recently also started using the expand app with the timer with a different focus levels to take the pressure off myself and relax, using either focus 10 or focus 12 hemi-sync.

It seems like when I attempt to kind of go in with a little bit more intention to astral project It's possible that there is still a fraction of micromanagement or some type of analytical brain on my end still going on.

I've had a couple experiences now that were really cool where I just decided to go to sleep instead of trying to AP to give myself a bit of a break. Two times now when trying to go to sleep I close my eyes and instantly would have very vivid spinning angular geometric shapes with tunnels.

The first time I tried to engage with it more and started going through the tunnel but I think I woke up a bit or became more alert and it kind of dicipated. The second time I was way too tired in general I try to take that on and it went away and I went to sleep.

What is your take on these experiences?

I feel like they are steps in the right direction I'm not sure where to go from here or what steps/techniques would be best.

I honestly haven't tried wake back to bed. It's been one of the techniques I've heard works really well but haven't actually gone full on into yet and plan to try it as well.

Week 3 / Focus 12: Hitting full paralysis, surrendering to the "data stream," but struggling to make the final local exit. Advice?

I'm on my third week now of my astral projection journey. I'm on Wave 2 of the Gateway tapes and finished One-month patterning. Focus 12 seems like a great step for me in awareness and expansion. I've been able to control and hit the vibrational state quite well. I've learned that when I let go more and really surrender to a higher being/data stream that many have talked about, that helps me let go of control that I really step into another "layer" or phase of myself. Kind of like stepping forward and all of a sudden being sucked into a ride that pulls you in a particular direction that I'm learning to observe, enjoy and embrace.

I think I may need to go back at some point and redo portions of wave 2 to really make sure I have a good understanding of those teachings.

I recently used the expand app and listened to Focus 12 Hemi sync with ambient drone under it in the timer function. I did this while in bed with my SO who was sleeping.. My body seemed to respond to it really well and multiple times my body would seperate in different ways. Floating upward, shrinking/melting, infinitely moving to the right or left, rolling. This went on at different times throughout the 120 minutes that the audio was playing. Every once and while my SO would turn or roll on me and it would break my focus but I learned to embrace it and go right back in.

One part that stood out was when I really let go and allowed myself surrender to whatever would happen and just like I stated earlier, it felt like I stepped into a different phase of myself where I was sucked along for the ride. My body felt great, it was vibrating like crazy, some slight different hums occurred and I felt as if anything could happen. It was different and more intense than any of the other seperations and vibratinal states occured and I was sure I would "wake up" and see another realm, or my room and see myself and picture my out of body self. This didn't happen. I just kept riding that wave in different ways. At one point I did wake up and sit up and the room felt slightly off and barely fuzzy. Almost like I was inbetween this world and the 3D realm or caught a bit of that transition phase. I was still in my regular body but things felt slightly fuzzy in bed, everything was still normal functioning like the real world. My hands were able to interact just like normal. Nothing pushed through anything and I didn't see myself when I looked back at my bed. I eventually decided to go back to sleep.

Occasionally, I will notice my muscles slightly tense up, but not nearly as much as they used to when I first started. Now Im able to recognize it much more and relax my body more. There was a point in this session that my body was forsure paralyzed. It was locked down. Which I just surrendered to and tried to go deeper.

I would love to be able to roam the neighborhood, or visit people or zoom up to space and see all these beautiful amazing things. I feel like it would help my understand the world more and myself once I fully am able to reach these different states and realms. It would also confirm to me that we are more than our bodies, even though there is research and evidence of this and so many people saying it too.

I say all this knowing I'm making progress but also wondering what else I can do to benefit myself to ensure I really am able to be out of body. How do I further relax my mind and body and just go as deep as possible?

Overall, I'd say this last session was a very positive experience that I felt I made a lot of progress understanding myself and surrendering and alinging with a data stream.

Any suggestions from all you experienced explorers that is constructive and potentially helpful for me to hit my out of body goal?

Am I on the right track for Astral Project with the tapes?

I started the Gateway tapes today and did Tracks 1, 2, then used the Art of Astral Projection MABA/Choice of Exit audio and then skipped to track 5.

(I know I'm supposed to go in order but I was curious to see if anything else was supplemental in any way)

When I got into Focus 10, it felt like total body paralysis where my mind and body were two different things entirely. I ended up in a 3D void seeing flashes of purple, white, and red light morphing and sweeping past me. It felt like I was moving through a space, not just seeing colors.

In terms of exiting technique, the roll-out method feels the most intuitive especially when I keep initiating the parts of the roll that continue to compound the vibrational feeling, but right when I start to "roll," my heart rate spikes a bit and get a bit more anticipation and slightly become aware of my body.

I also know I probably shouldn’t have skipped tracks 3 and 4 but I will go back to those and do everything in order.

Questions I have for you all:

  1. Since I’m already hitting the 3D void and paralysis on day one, what is a realistic timeline for a full exit?

I'm not expecting everything immediately and I know mastering the little things and going back to the same audio to work on techniques is very helpful.

Little background of me:

I’ve spent the last 10 years learning how to connect with my body through energy and chakra work, so I’m used to inducing full-body highs. I’m also in the second week of Jade Shaw’s Mindvalley course, but the Gateway tapes seem to be a helpful missing link.

Just looking for a reality check from anyone who had a similar starting point.

---

I know everyone is different but for those experienced people out there, I'm just curious what you guys think of a timeframe etc for astral projection.

Am I already on a good path based off what you have read?

Need some help! I almost AP'd, did taking an edible help me/hurt me or did I still get in my head?

Some background:

I’ve been practicing Astral Projection for about five days now. For some context, I have a history with various meditation and breathwork techniques. I’m comfortable inducing waves of energy through my body and achieving sustained "body highs."

* **Days 1–3:** I successfully reached the vibrational stage. However, as soon as I felt the exit coming, the sheer excitement and anticipation of what it would feel like would snap me right back into my body.

* **Day 4:** I realized I needed to find a deeper level of relaxation and the specific "tipping point" of Mind Awake/Body Asleep (MABS). If I didn’t hit that middle ground, my internal narrative or "management mode" would kick in and block the process.

## **Day 5:**

Today, I decided to try a different approach. I’d heard that THC can help some people facilitate the exit, so I took an edible, set a strong intention to enter the Astral Plane, and laid down.

I put a towel over my face to ensure total darkness. Used Sound-isolating headphones, did Focused meditation/sleeping.

As the edible kicked in, the body high felt different than usual. I felt like I had much more control over the "flow" of energy, allowing me to hover in a pretty ideal area in that sleep/wake threshold. This led to the most intense vibrational states I’ve ever experienced. I felt like I was consistently on the cusp of "peeling" out of my physical form.

**My Sensations were:**

* Constant crackling in my right ear and distinct "pops" in my left. At one point, the sound in my right ear changed to a weird, stretching rubber band noise.

* Faint flashes of white, yellow, and purple light.

* **"IMAX" Vision:** At one point, my vision became pitch black, as if I were in the middle of deep space. I had a first person point of view with a field of view that felt curved, like a massive IMAX screen. However, I had no control during this phase; it felt more like a lucid dream state than a conscious projection.

* Recurring sensations of my nonphysical body "melting" or "peeling" away from my physical body, and the distinct feeling of being right on the verge of entering a different space.

### **Here is my current road block:**

I felt like I was **right there** constantly on the threshold of another realm. But for some reason, I couldn't make the final transition.

**I’m curious to get Reddit's take on a few things:**

  1. Did the edible stop me at the door from leaving my body. (I do think it helped unlock more to get me there at least)

  2. Is my head getting in the way

  3. Does this sound like a positive stride toward a full exit, or am I hitting a common plateau?

I definitely feel like I’ve unlocked a better understanding of how to control my mind and body, but I’m struggling with that final "push." Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Additional note: I did learn that the edible most likely created a neural pathway to the vibrational state for me to continue to use and solidify. So that seemed helpful especially since I remember how it went and how I got there.

**TL;DR:** 5 days in. Using meditation + an edible led to intense vibrations, auditory crackling/stretching sounds, and "space" visuals, but I still feel "stuck" at the threshold. Looking for advice on the final exit.
