Honest Review: Escapade is NOT worth it
I just want to preface this by saying that I've been to several festivals around the world (Teletech, Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Defqon1, Ilesoniq, along with a handful of Insomniac events), and so I have something to compare it to. I want to say that Escapade 2026 has the worst production relative to the price you pay.
The first time I went to Escapade was in 2024 at the old stadium venue, and honestly, I had a great time. That's why I wanted to come back this year. However, this year felt like a total slap in the face.
Here's a list of what stood out:
- Bass Stage: They literally spray-painted a parking lot with cracks everywhere and uneven flooring. It's also right beside a hill where homeless people probaly were sleeping the week before.
- Techno/Trance Stage: Tiny as hell, with Dollarama-level decorations. When they fired the low-quality confetti, it genuinely felt like I was at a McDonald's birthday party. It was so unbelievably bad.
- You could literally watch the crew setting/carrying up a tent at the Bass Stage during the festival. Why was construction still in progress instead of being finished beforehand? It honestly felt like Days 1–3 were just progress bars for building the venue, and they finally finished it on the last day.
- The only decent stage was the Main Stage, but even then there were dead pixels on the LED screen.
The only good thing I have to say about Escapade is that there was plenty of room to dance....but that's probably because Escpade is so underwhelming that it doesn't attract a bigger crowd.
