I recently replaced the valve stem seals in my 1985 corvette. It took a few days to get the project totally done and then once I started it up I began hearing this sound. Initially I thought i may have incorrectly adjusted my rockers but after re adjusting the sound is still here. I ran the car without the valve covers on to see if I could find a rocker making the noise (hence the oil everywhere and light smoking) and it did not sound like it was coming from the valve train. I’ve pushed and pulled on many things and listened with a stethoscope to try and find the noise but I just can’t pin point it. Hoping someone may have some ideas. Thanks all.
