Thanks for the fun while it lasted, Sucker Punch

I don’t usually make posts like this, but after putting a huge amount of time into Legends and now Ghost of Yōtei, I feel like I need to say something.

First off, thank you to Sucker Punch Productions for creating one of the most fun multiplayer experiences I’ve played in years. Legends especially gave me countless hours of challenge, experimentation, and satisfaction. I met great players, learned difficult content, and pushed myself into solo runs because the gameplay was just that rewarding.

That’s exactly why this feels disappointing.

Ghost of Yōtei feels limited in playability compared to what made Legends special. The biggest issue for me is how restricted the combat sandbox feels now, especially with ghost weapons. Bombs and other tools don’t feel satisfying or impactful anymore, and instead of opening up creative playstyles, it feels like the game narrows you into specific “correct” ways to play.

The class balance also feels uneven. Some classes clearly have more freedom, survivability, or usefulness than others, and it gives the impression that personal preference isn’t really respected. In Legends, even if there was a meta, you could still make your preferred class work through skill and mastery. Here, it feels like the gap is much harder to overcome.

And honestly, if someone willing to grind solos and learn mechanics at a high level is feeling dissatisfied, then I can’t imagine more casual players will stay invested long term either. I’m not saying this as someone who hates the game — it’s the opposite. I’m saying it because I cared enough to push the game to its limits.

I really wanted this to have the same longevity and replayability that Legends had for me, but right now it feels like the freedom and creativity got trimmed back too much.

Still, I appreciate the memories and the fun while it lasted. I genuinely hope the feedback gets heard because the foundation is there.

Already completed a duo on this, just thought I'd upload random matchmade lobby footage I took from earlier.

Build and results in the end. 💯
