Why do we say the sicilian is more theoretical when e5 looks like this.

I have been playing chess for years and I followed all the most common advices: started with e5 and around 1600 I changed to the taimanov sicilian and still play it with success (Only one OTB loss for like 4 years).

Now at 1866 fide, I have tried e5 again online, and by playing it a lot, I noticed something:

e5 is more theoretical than the sicilian. There are so many traps, sacrifices and counter-intuitive moves that you need to know that the taimanov looks so much simpler in comparison.

And even when you get the moves right and know theory, the resulting position is dead equal as a "reward". If my opponent play some crap in the taimanov and I remember the theory, the reward is much higher and interesting.

I do understand that the najdorf is super theoretical, but it looks like any other sicilian is less work than e5.

So, where the misconception of e5 being simpler than the sicilian came from ?

Very Low patient volume - bulk bill practice

Hello everyone, I am working as a GP -close to start FSP training- in a bulk bill practice in a regional area. While I understand that it takes time to build your patient base, I am a bit concerned and it looks like I have to adjust my expectations on training and salary.

The practice I work is full bulk billed in a regional mm2 area. I noticed some of the old doctors have a few open spots even after months or years working here.

I have been here for 3 weeks and now usually seeing between 2 and 7 patients a day, but usually 2-4. Today no patients yet up to 12 am.

I was wondering, has anyone faced something similar ?

it‘s ok for learning but its a bit underwhelming to leave the hospital to earn less than an RMO. What tips to survive low volume practices should I follow ?
