Anyone travel with their family while in the apprenticeship or once they topped out?

How hard is to transition to utility side once you get your ticket? Will I have to start over?

I have applied to multiple substation apprenticeships in different regions. Taking my first groundman call next week. Im a family man. I understand I will be traveling all of my apprenticeship. Just want to know what my options are.

Received direct entry into IBEW 1105 and confirmed that I will be given more information on starting class at the end this month. Moving from Southern California. My questions are for those currently working in 1105, how often are layoffs?

If I am laid off, how long is the expected wait time before I am assigned to another job?

What is the work outlook for the next 5 years?

I understand lay offs are normal, I am just curious what the normal turn around time are for apprentices.
