SCAM ALERT: Fake Banking Job Rackets Targeting Job Seekers in Mumbai & Thane

Hi everyone,

Be vigilant if you are applying for back-office or entry-level banking roles in the Mumbai MMR region. Multiple fake hiring agencies are running direct-interview rackets targeting freshers and experienced job seekers alike.

The Common Modus Operandi:

  • Unsolicited Invitations: They message or call claiming your profile is "selected" for various back-office roles under reputable banking names (like HDFC Bank and others).
  • The Bait: Promising guaranteed placement near your home location, ₹15,000–₹35,000 monthly pay (higher if you show previous salary slips), free two-way cab facilities, and zero formal assessment.
  • Shady Office Locations: They provide vague addresses near Thane station with obscure landmarks and instruct candidates to call only after reaching the spot.
  • The Extortion Trap: Upon arrival, they pose as official banking placement partners and demand upfront "consultancy/registration fees" ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000+ to immediately issue an offer letter.

Profiles Commonly Baited:

  • Front Desk / Reception
  • Data Entry Operator
  • Document Verification
  • Back Office Executive
  • MIS Executive
  • Junior Accounts / Finance

Locations & Contact Details Used by the Racket:

Location 1:

  • Address: Office No. 301, 3rd Floor, BL Tower, Opposite Platform No. 2, Thane Station (Next to Gajanan Vadapav), Thane West – 400601
  • Aliases / Contacts: Mahi Ma'am, Neha
  • Numbers: +91 88285 47034, +91 84248 64871, +91 70394 68664

Location 2:

  • Address: Megh Building, Office No. 1, Ground Floor, Opp. Shardha Poli Bhaji Kendra, Near Thane Hair Saloon, CIDCO Road, Thane West – 400601
  • Aliases / Contacts: Aarti Ma'am, Seema
  • Number: +91 70399 86493

Key Red Flags to Remember:

  • No genuine bank charges candidates: Reputable banks and authorized recruitment partners never charge registration fees, security deposits, or file processing charges.
  • Instant selection without technical rounds: Any entity promising immediate offer letters in exchange for cash is running a scam.
  • Never pay any upfront fees. If you receive similar messages, do not visit these locations and report the details directly to the Cyber Crime cell or local police.

Job Scam Alert: Fake "Bank Back Office" Hiring racket near Thane Station

Hey everyone,

I wanted to make this post to alert job seekers in the Mumbai MMR region about an active employment scam operating under the guise of HDFC, icici or any other Bank direct hiring.

The Modus Operandi:

  1. Unsolicited Calling / Messages: They call candidates claiming they have vacancies across multiple profiles (Front Desk, Data Entry Operator, Document Verification, Junior Accounts, Finance) for any Bank back-office branches across Mumbai.
  2. The Bait: They promise:
    • A job location close to wherever you live in Mumbai.
    • Salaries ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹35,000 (claiming higher pay if you have past salary slips).
    • Free cab facilities and instant selection.
  3. Vague Location & No Official Presence: Candidates are asked to report to an address in Thane West: Office No. 301, 3rd Floor, BL Tower, Opposite Platform No. 2, Thane Station (Next to Gajanan Vadapav), Thane West - 400601
    • When asked for the exact company/consultancy name, they evade the question and claim it is an "HDFC or icici Bank office."
    • There is no listing or record of "BL Tower" at that location on Google Maps. They instruct you to reach Thane Station and call them for directions.
  4. The Scam (Extortion/Registration Fees): Once candidates arrive, they claim to be an authorized tie-up/consultancy for HDFC Bank and demand an upfront "consultancy/processing fee" of ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 (or more), promising that an official HDFC Bank offer letter will be generated immediately upon payment.

I built a voice-activated AI that works entirely on my OS (locally and on the web). Think JARVIS, but real.

I’m a solo developer, and I’ve been spending the last few months building an autonomous AI that runs natively on OS.

I got tired of typing and clicking, so I built "Purple". You just speak a complex goal, and she orchestrates the browser, local files, and system hardware to execute it. For example, I can say: "Find the latest tech news, create a folder for it, and read this PDF to tell me the revenue, create a in depth article on multiple topic at once, and she does it all without me touching the mouse.

It uses a BYOK model (you plug in your own free Groq API key) so it runs completely locally with zero server costs.

Here is a video showing it executing multi-step workflows. I’m still in the beta phase, but I’d love to hear what you guys think of the concept and the tech!
