Sitter canceled! Christmas & New Year’s near Washington, DC 🎄🐈 | Arlington, VA | Dec 15–Jan 5
My sitter unfortunately just canceled, so I’m hoping to find someone interested in spending Christmas and New Year’s in the Washington, DC area — Dec 15–Jan 5.
I’m in Arlington, VA, within walking distance of the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, in a cute little Cape Cod house with one friendly, very low-maintenance kitty. It’s an especially easy sit in the winter — no lawn or garden to maintain (although I will have plants wintering over indoors that will need water), and my koi will be hibernating, so there’s very little outdoor responsibility.
My house is older, so I’d especially love to find a mature, experienced, self-sufficient sitter who is comfortable with the occasional quirks of an older home and can handle normal household issues if something comes up.
A few perks:
• Great location for exploring DC — walkable to the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, and a popular bus route just a couple blocks away gets you to Metro in under 5 minutes
• Several restaurants and everyday amenities within walking distance
• Plenty of free street parking, and I may be able to make room for another car in the driveway
• High-speed Wi-Fi and lots of smart-home technology
• Washer/dryer, dishwasher and all the usual conveniences
• Foodies will be very happy here. My small kitchen is packed with high-end cookware, appliances and gadgets, and my pantry and spice collection could probably qualify as a small international market. 😂
It’s a great home base for exploring Washington, DC, Arlington and Old Town Alexandria over the holidays, with a pretty easy sit and a sweet furry roommate to come home to.
My sitter canceling this close to the holidays has me scrambling a bit, so I’d really appreciate any interest — or a tag if you know a great sitter who might be looking for a holiday sit.
