AD to Reserves

Hello!
I am getting out of the Air Force here shortly and really never considered the reserves until I spoke to a recruiter last week. It all sounds like a pretty sweet deal. I am not content with my job? You can retrain. I understand that I wouldn’t be able to do IMA if I did this but that doesn’t bug me as I was told I could do my drill days once a quarter instead of monthly. Especially because I would be doing drill out of the state I’m living in. Promotion? Was told I could put on the next rank once I have TIG. I get VA disability? Cool, you can keep it but just have drill days subtracted from it. Retirement? AD time will allow you to get pension sooner than 60 (obviously not as great as active duty and getting it at 38 but I’m more excited that it’s still an option to receive it going this route). You want to deploy? Sure. You decide you don’t want to do it? Great, we have 1 year contracts.

I guess my question here is, is this too good to be true? Like what is the caveat here? Is there one?

Edit: I have 11 years active duty.

I made it

I gave up, didn’t care, was burnt out. Hit the button to separate next year. Didn’t study because I knew I was getting out. So tired of having the same rank for 6 years. And then boom, I made it. Very confused and shocked, but grateful for this surprise.

I’m not sure it’s enough to change my decision but at least I can get out as a tech and be able to say I did it.

I just got a new 23 foot Jayco jay flight Baja edition travel trailer, my first one ever! I’ve wanted one ever since I was a kid and I finally was able to pull it off. I haven’t noticed many issues so far. Little things that everyone finds out eventually. Could not figure out for the life of me how get that thing level especially when parking at my house because I live on a hill. Several leveling blocks later it is “okay”. Also thought my door was broken because it wouldn’t shut - sure you all can guess it… it wasn’t level! Anyways, I’m just wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks for this type of trailer. I know it’s small and there probably isn’t much to it but just thought I’d ask.

My main reason for posting this is that this subreddit has made me kinda nervous. I tow it with my lifted 4Runner which I hear isn’t great. I also bought brand new which apparently is the biggest no-no that I’ve read on here. And I can’t even count how many times I read that Jayco is crap. So now I’m more nervous than excited and wanted to hear from yall if there is something even more severe that I’m not thinking about or if I’m overreacting. Just need some reassurance and maybe some tips if there is anyone willing to share!
