The G36 horizontal handheld with a 4.5” screen. Does anyone know anything about this thing?
So I came across this thing for 20.52$ on tik tok and kinda decided screw it, if I get scammed they have a decent refund policy and it’s 20$. while I was waiting for it to arrive I kind of realize that it barely exists anywhere? Searching for it turns up a couple short Chinese videos of someone touching it briefly, but I can’t find anything substantial on it and google search results quickly turn to showing you results about a g36 gun.
So I’m like half sure I’m getting scammed when exactly what I ordered actually arrives, and seems to function just fine for a couple boots before I got screwed by the cheap micro sd card and now it refuses to get past the boot splash screen having to be powered off with a sim tool. Essentially leaving me with a glowing brick because no one seems to have one of these except the sellers.
I’d really like to actually use this thing, though I do have other options, the buttons are kind of meh, but it’s an aluminum alloy frame and acrylic backed so it feels pretty nice to hold. The stock os looked underwhelming, but like I could’ve at least played some pokemon 😂
I guess I’m trying to see if anyone has one with a working operating system or at least knows what’s really inside it
Edit: I grabbed a more reliable 64gb card to clone the original to just so I have a backup and so I can try messing with things. During this I learned that the original was lying about its size and is only 16gb.
After running recovery on disk genius I’m looking through the files and found out the chipset. The G36 apparently has a RockChip rk3506 in it possibly the B variant because the whole string says rockchip_rk3506_b_35004_sd_defconfig
