Is it worth investing in a document camera for System Design interviews

I have been frustrated with trying to maneuver myself in online doc editing during system design interviews. It's like my mind knows how to explain it, but my hand's ability is telling my mind to 'shut up' and do something easy for me to draw.

It made me wonder, has anyone tried using a doc camera for showing what you do when doing system design interviews? What was your experience with it? Does it work well with the other camera to your face?

Company mandated token usage limitation (under 100$ per month for each headcount)

Here I was making it to the leaderboard, thinking tokenmaxxing is a good thing when all of a sudden our higher ups sends a mandate to limit AI usage (saying with this our budget will go haywire, etc etc) and tells us that it has to be under 100$ per person per month.

Does this mean good days of hiring are back ? :) As much as I hate now that I have to manually run my builds, analyze lowkey logs for lowkey issues - I can't help but think that all this AI is going replace our jobs may still be far away? So for now it seems like a gauntlet for when you need it the most?

Research projects - how is it going so far?

Just curious for people who got in during the summer, how has it been for you? Good, Bad or meh? I am an alumni, thinking of trying to get my hands onto some research work - but not sure if this is for me (work is very busy plus 2 kids, hoping it will be less by fall). I am also aware that there is a big variance across diff research projects - but pls do share how is it like in terms of workload, expectation? Is it even possible to publish a paper by end of the term or do people usually take another quarter or 2 to wrap up?
