Anyone else with constant headache?

My constant pressure headache and pressure/pain on my eyes for years finally let my doctors to have an MRI done half a year ago. They found a tumor in the fourth ventricle.

3 months ago I had my surgery. It was a pilocytic astrocytoma. And luckily did not grow in the 3 months between when it was first found and the time of the surgery.

Sadly it was not a gross resection. I guess around 30% is still left, mostly around the edges, maybe they did not want to take a risk damaging the brain stem or cerebellum. Luckily the csf is flowing again and my ventricles are starting to get smaller!

However, I still have my 24/7 headache and pressure/pain on the eyes. I am also still very dizzy after this surgery, luckily the dizziness is getting less.

Anyone else with these headaches? I have been prescribed amitriptiline 10mg/day to combat the headaches. Its been 3 weeks now, but its not working yet.

Is it normal to read novels this slow?

Started reading 斗罗大陆, and I spent an hour on the first few pages (even with a tap to look up dictionary app). Just to figure out the meaning of each sentence.

Is this normal? I guess it will get better with time? It’s also hard to figure out when word combinations I don’t know are people’s names.

Just for reference, I have around 4000 words learned in Anki.

Couple of questions before buying

Hey everyone! Hope you guys can help me out before I bite the bullet! I have a few questions about migaku.

  1. I am learning 2 languages, mandarin and japanese. Can you switch languages when mining? And if so, how does that work with the anki connection add on? Because I only want to use Anki for the reviews.

  2. When you use the IOS app, I guess it’s not connected to Anki right? How does the integration then work when you use the Anki add on on PC? Do you have to manually sync the mined cards on iOS?

  3. Does Migaku work on Plex and/or BiliBili?

  4. All the reviews/videos on Migaku I have seen are for Japanese learners. How is your experience with Mandarin?

  5. I also want to mine ebooks/digital novels, how does that work on Migaku? Is it possible in the app? And on PC, how does it work?

  6. Just out of curiosity, is Migaku in English only? Or could you switch languages as well?

What would you do?

First of all, I hope you are having a great day and thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I've been learning Mandarin for a while now because of my girlfriend, and I am at 4.3K words learned in Anki. However, I have always had the passion to learn Japanese, mainly because of all the amazing Japanese content there is out there.

I really want to start learning Japanese next to Mandarin, but I am afraid that I cannot learn 2 languages full time. So I guess there are 2 options, what would you guys do? Oh before I name the options, I want to add that the way I learn mandarin is mostly through sentence/word mining, immersion and output. I know around 1000 Japanese words, so I'd like to use sentence mining as well to learn the language.

Option 1) Wait 3-5 or even more years untill I am fluent enough in Mandarin so that I don't have to actively study anymore and only then start focussing on Japanese 100%.

Option 2) Study Japanese slowly on the side, just to tickle that ever growing itch of learning Japanese. I cannot sentence mine and immerse in both languages at the same time. So I guess I will only be able to do Japanese anki reviews daily and only sentence mining on the weekends, maybe around 20 words a week, or more depending on my abilities.

Maybe another option as well? I am curious how you all think about it! Thank you in advance!
