Recommend your favorite "hole in the wall" restaurant

I know, there are a million posts asking about restaurants. But I have a unique request I think.

I'm looking for a no-frills hole in the wall restaurant. Where nonna is in the back cooking herself.

Egg allergy

Hello! I have been to Rome a lot and I'm very excited to be going back soon!

I am traveling with someone that has an egg allergy. It's not too severe of an allergy, and cross contamination is usually not an issue.

However, I'm concerned about finding any pasta or gelato without eggs in it.

Does anyone have any insight? Restaurant recommendations? I am making a card for them to carry just to be safe, of course.

Grazie mille! 😊
