Tips on how to Base Hunt?

So i recently just got into 2b2t and want to start base hunting my current situation: found an elytra on a dead body and traveled 100k in the nether built a base got all my gear legit farmed a shulker of rockets I am now around 400k blocks out in the nether and I'm just struggling to find any bases i go out 5-10k parallel on the +x +z highway and still find nothing. my main goal is loot and I am considering maybe going back to spawn and looking around dungeons for shop loot cause getting loot is kinda my priority before i start looking for mega bases. If you guys have any good advice I'll honestly take it.

So I have a HP Color Laser Jet Pro 3201dw i just recently refilled the cartridges with the correct toner and I was able to print normally nothing would go wrong till now all of a sudden whenever i print a google docs page using the black and white option it prints the whole page using purple and blue toner now I have no clue to why. I tried replacing all my toners in firmly and it still comes out purple I tried reprinting again using color mode and it was able to give more white.
