MacBook Pro M5 16GB RAM 512GB SSD - return or keep?
Right guys, this is gonna sound ridiculous but been staring at this unopened MacBook Pro box for the last week and a half and I don’t know whether to open it and keep it, or return it and wait.
For reference, complete novice, no experience and wanting to try something new - so wanted to start making YouTube videos as a bit of a side hustle and see where it goes. Was waiting on the new Mac mini maybe later this year (already have a desktop etc for work) but since the price rises I panicked, saw this on offer for £1250 and bought it due to it being a good deal given the price rises. Completely inexperienced, wanted to try some light 2d animation, some video editing etc using Davinci, Premier Pro or Final Cut Pro (not decided) and I’m thinking maybe Apple Motion and after effects?
Would also be using it day to day for browsing etc etc.
The store I bought it from is really bad for returns, and won’t take it back if I open it or trial it for a couple of weeks. Ive read so many conflicting opinions, and I’d like to know if you’d return it and wait for a Mac Mini with more RAM or if I’ve completely overspent!
Now this model is discontinued, the nearest RAM upgrade for 24GB/1TB on the MBP will set me back £2000. Will also be getting an external SSD if I keep this.
