Non-coder here — building a pipeline whose whole point is using frontier intelligence as cost-effectively as possible. Does this make sense

I'm not a developer — I built (two) things (so far) by directing AI agents. The goal of my pipeline is simple to state: pay frontier rates only where judgment matters, cheap rates everywhere else.

How it's split: a frontier model designs the blueprint, DeepSeek/GLM Flash writes the code, a different frontier model does ONE review pass, and a cheap model repairs whatever it flags. One review, no further loops. Nothing ships without my approval.

I got burned once paying for one model and getting silently served another, so every seat's

route is verified against what was actually asked for.

The pieces exist separately — MetaGPT does roles, RouteLLM does cost-splitting — but I haven't seen the combination. So, honestly: does this make sense, or am I overcomplicating it?

5.3 Flash caching as good as it was when it was Ox Alpha?

Hi, I am a relatively new user of AI. I was playing around with Hermes when Ox Alpha came around. I used it to create a program and debug it during the free trial which consumed around 175M Tokens. According to openrouter 163m was cached. 8k were reasoning tokens. 717K were completion tokens.

According to google with their current pricing model for api the cost would be about $5.25. From what I understand the coding plan limits you to around 180M tokens a week. In that case wouldn't just using the API be more worth it? If caching functions as well as it did during the OX period?

Can anyone who's actually using the coding plan or API confirm what caching percentage they had? I believe mine was at 92%.
