Hello! I'm a graphic design student who natively speaks Arabic. I realized in my academic career I've rarely experimented with custom Arabic typography for my works and I'm trying to change that.

I'm looking for any guides, blogs, tutorials that explain how to breakdown the shapes of Arabic letters, to then manipulate them. I've done this with Latin script and I've attempted with short Arabic words and phrases but I still find it difficult to understand how to really master the shapes. I feel like I need to understand the basics of building up Arabic type first.

I'm not looking to learn a certain script/style like Kufic or Naskh, I want to learn how to manipulate Arabic script more freely, understanding the 'serifs' and 'loops' of Arabic so to speak, like how I was taught to work with English.
